Chapter six

Mega POV

I went back home, this was one of the first times I wasn't expecting my parents to be fighting, and they weren't.
"Mega! Happy birthday my boy" My mom comes and hugs me, I love her.
I went upstairs and scrolled through Twitter for about two hours until I heard the doorbell ring.
'It's probably Zak!' I sprinted, and almost fell, down the stairs only to see my cousins in the living room.
'Who the fuck called these cunts here' I rolled my eyes.
Everyone slowly started coming, Zak, Calvin, A6d, LeftBoob, Tryhard, Luke, Harry etc. Only one was missing, Zelkam.
'Where is he..' I sighed as I looked through my window, but that was when I heard the door softly slam and greetings.
I turned around only to see Zelk with one of his eyes covered, but that didn't bother me.
What I cared about is that I had my best friend? here with me.
"Mega! Happy birthday..!" He smiled as he handed me my gift, it was a glass vase with plastic roses.
"Awhh, you know how much I love roses" I grabbed his wrist and dragged him upstairs to the rest.
About an hour passed until Zelk whispered something to me.
"H-hey uh, could we l-like talk f-for a bit.. it's quite important.."
"Oh uhm, of course" I responded as he grabbed my hand and dragged me outside.
"So uh..-" He started. "- There's this thing I've been needing to tell you for uh, quite a while actually..-" "Yeah..?" I interrupted his, quite long, pause, not realising he was about to pass out.
He suddenly collapsed to the ground as I tried to hold him up, we had roughly the same height so it was fairly easy.
My screaming could be heard in my room that everyone was in, as Zak sprinted out of the room, he seemed to know what was happening.
"I knew this was gonna happen, call a fucking ambulance I can hold him up-"

Mega POV

Only me and Zak were able to go with Zelk to the hospital, the rest went back to their homes.
"Do you think he'll be ok..?" I asked Zak while at the verge of crying.
"To be honest, I'm sorry but there's not a really big chance of that.." After that, only silence that was interrupted occasionally by my sobs and the nurses walking back and forth filled the waiting room.
About an hour after we arrived, Zak left with the excuse that 'He can't anymore', and an hour after that i was allowed in Zelk's room.
I tried to be as patient as possible with tears rapidly running down my face and nurses telling me what to do and whatnot.
I sat next to him and looked at his soft, moonlit face as I contemplated what I had done wrong and what I could've done to change this result for him.
'I didn't realise this earlier but I love you, Zelkam. And I love you more than the buddies you're used to, the best friend dynamic, or even the opposites attract jokes.' I whispered to him as the soft air from the window next to him was blowing his hair.
Two hours passed by without me realising, and now I had to leave for the day.
'See you.. tomorrow…' I whispered and went back home to my entire family being shocked about what happened.
I explained to them what happened, and attempted to sleep as it was quite late.
