Agnes hadn't moved out of her room ever since Anne had been killed. Her mother had gone to the town meeting, which lead to Sarah Fier and Hannah Miller being accused of being witches.

Agnes came out of her home at that point, as she watched Hannah run past her.

"Let her be!" Agnes screamed as she watched a man try and take off Hannah's clothes.

The two men turned towards Agnes, who was now running towards them.

"Let her be! She has done nothing wrong!" Agnes shouted as Elijah held her back.

"Must we check you for the witches mark too?" Elijah asked, a smirk on her face as Agnes shook her head. Elijah pushed Agnes to the floor as Mad Thomas ran towards them.

"Elijah, what are you doing?" He asked, as Elijah began trying to tear off Agnes' clothes.

"Let me go! I am no witch!" Agnes cried as she tried to push Elijah off of her.

"I am checking 'er for the witches mark." Elijah replied and Thomas' eyes widened.

"I'll do it." Thomas snapped, as he pushed Elijah away. Thomas gently undid, Agnes' corset and opened it up scanning her back for any marks.

"She's clear!" He shouted and he quickly helped Agnes do up her corset before anyone could check her back. The woman had a small birthmark on her back, and Thomas knew that if anyone saw it, Agnes would be accused of witchcraft.

Agnes quickly got up, brushing herself down as she glared at Elijah.

"Don't you dare lay a hand on me, again." Agnes spat, as Mary made her way over to her.

"Are you okay?" Mary asked as she lead Agnes away from the men and Agnes just gave a nod.

"My sister and Hannah are being accused of witchcraft." Mary informed her and Agnes gasped.

"They would do no such thing!" She exclaimed as Mary lead her towards the crowd of people gathered near Hannah.

"Be sure as the sun rises, we will purge Union of this wretched pollution!" Elijah shouted as he shook Hannah.

"They have to let her go." Agnes whispered as Katherine joined her and Mary's side.

"She's no witch." Katherine added, as they watched everyone cheer.

"We will search every house, every inch of wood! We will not rest and we will not have mercy!" Elijah continued as Katherine shook her head.

"This is inhuman." Katherine whispered as everyone began shouting "No mercy!"

"So help me, God, we will be cleansed of these anathemas! We will have our Justice!" Elijah shouted as Katherine walked away, having enough of the madness.

"We will find Sarah Fier!" Everyone shouted as Mary Fier stood with Agnes.

"I hope she's ran." Mary whispered as she headed back to her home.

Elijah and Caleb burst into the Fier home, as Mary was cleaning the kitchen.

"She's not here." Mary spoke, but nonetheless the men searched the house.

"If you know where she is and your hiding it," Elijah began as he slowly walked towards Mary. "You'll be hung with her."

"My sister doesn't trust me. So, why would she come here?" Mary asked him as she continued to scrub at the counter, not looking.

"She's not here!" Caleb shouted as Elijah made his way to the door.

"Did you check upstairs?" Elijah asked and Caleb nodded as he came out of the house, "I did, there's no one there."

Mary came to the door as the two left.

"And don't come back!" She shouted, as she made her way down the steps.

"Sarah," Mary whispered as she made her way round the corner to see her sister.

"Mary," Sarah breathed out and the girl pulled her sister into a hug.

"Run. Go anywhere you can. They're going to hang you." Mary cried as Sarah shook her head.

"I can't leave you and Hannah." Sarah told and Mary let out a chuckle.

"I'll be fine by myself. You need to run." Mary sobbed, as she looked behind her trying to see if anyone was there.

"I've been such a bad older sister, I'm sorry." Sarah apologised as Mary turned round to give her a smile.

"I was horrible to you. You were the best sister I could ever ask for." Mary smiled, as she heard more shouts from the men.

"Go." Mary whispered, as she let go of her sister and went back into the house.

Mary closed the door behind her, falling down as she let out sobs. She didn't want her sister to be hung for something she didn't do.
