Legend says that Vikings were not as friendly and lovable as they are today. Battle, quarrels, and breaches among families and different forces of nature were quite monotonous. War with one of the most formidable forces of nature, the dragons, has cost the Vikings a lot. Their men, their village all burnt to the ground.

The Vikings raided the homes of these thoughtful intelligent creature without any concrete reason except for the feeling of avenging what they had lost, urging the Dragons to continue defending their home...in other words, fighting back. Generations of Vikings grew up to be the same as their precedents were, with the same mindset of Dragon being their enemies. Vikings were trained to hunt and kill dragons in their sight. They were asked to sacrifice all humane morals and bring out the savage within themselves, just to kill a dragon.  And that's what kept happening, for generations coming up and generations passing by, until...this boy, Hiccup Haddock. Son of Berk's chief and heir to the throne of Berk.

With an insatiable quench to prove himself to his father, Hiccup set out to hunt a dragon. He had shot a Night Fury, a dragon with unfathomable speed and immeasurable agility. Regarded as the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself. Vikings were warned to never engage this dragon. Hiccup didn't know its type then, he only knew that the beast in front of him was harmless until harm was inflicted on him. If threaded with love, kindness, and respect, the forces as they thought were beasts could actually be a good ally not to mention the best of friends.

For Hiccup, seeing the Night Fury was almost like seeing his reflection in a mirror. He knew that he could never kill this dragon or any other dragon as a matter of fact. To mend the bridge between the two species, Hiccup earned the dragon's trust, trained it with defensive and offensive tactics, loved it. He along with his team, the Dragon Riders mended the bridge that was thought to be broken. And now...thanks to him, the world is a better place for both, dragons and Vikings to coexist peacefully. While he has a Dragon Rider team of his own back in Berk, it is here, in Hale, that all the training of being a Dragon Rider takes place.
