The Siege

Two weeks later

Grievous and the tactical droid are discussing battle plans in the bridge of the Invisible Hand.

"Commander, are we ready to launch the attack now? We should have enough forces gathered to start the assault right?" Grievous asks.

"Yes, General. All the ships and droids required for the operation are accounted for and ready for battle." The droid answers.

"Good, begin Operation Downfall immediately."

"Roger roger."

The Invisible hand and the ships in the first wave jumped to hyperspace towards Alderaan, General Grievous surrounded by B1 droids and Magna guards.

An hour later the first wave exits hyperspace. A sizable fleet of Venators are taken by surprise as a barrage of turbolaser fire damages the shields. Ion cannons fire from the Invisible hand, dealing extra damage to the shields, depleting the Venators reactors. Clone commander Cody who is in charge of the orbital defense rushes to the bridge as the Venators all begin to return fire. The vulture droids and Hyena bombers clash in intense dogfights with the ARC-170 and Y-Wings of the Republic. The dark expanse of space fills up with bright blaster bolts arcing across, some finding their target and some flying off.

As Cody reaches the bridge, some clones give him updates on shield power, hull integrity engines and the weapons.

"Sir, we are down to 50 shield capacity! We were caught off gaurd but we're returning fire now. We can get through this." A clone pilot tells Cody.

"Good. Divert all emergency power to the shields and shut down unnecessary components. We want to prioritize shields and weapons as much as possible, understood?" Cody asks, concerned.

"Yes sir, right away."

Alarms are heard in the hanger room of the Venator, all pilots scrambling to deploy as fast as possible. Explosions rumble across the ship and people constantly have to duck for cover as debris flies all over. The leader of Y-Wing squadron Blue Dragon  walks towards his squad.

"As you know, we are a new bomber squad, Blue Dragon. As such, our job is to deal as much damage to the capital ships as possible. You all know Y-Wings are equipped with ion bombs concussion and proton missiles and an ion turret. You are to use these to maximum efficiency to take down that Providence class ship, better known as the Invisible Hand. Our squad has two fireteams, each consisting of 10 members. Officer Reach and Rancor are the leaders. After the briefing, find your fireteam and begin deployment. We will be escorted by ARC-170 squad Soaring Eagles. Stay in formation, stay in the fight, and stay alive. Oh, and by the way, my name is Falcon. Naval Lieutenant Falcon."

Falcon gets in his custom Y-Wing, leading the squad into the fray.

Below the furious capital ship combat, multiple experimental CIS gunships are descending down onto the planet's surface. It's latest stealth technology allowed it to slip by undetected by Republic forces. Grievous planned to oversee the ground assault while the tactical droid lead the orbital attack. It carried battalions of B1 battle droids, B2 super battle droids,  sniper droidekas and 2 AAT's. The gunships landed in a clearing 50 miles away from the republic base, near the supply line. Grievous led in front, giving directions and instructions.

"Right now the clones are transporting fuel, weapons and unrefined ores back to the base to expand their power over the planet. We will take out the transport Juggernauts and force them to surrender. AAT's will split up. One on the east mountain and one on the west. On my command, open fire and destroy the supplies. Start with the first one and then the last one, to pin them inside the valley. Sniper droidekas will provide cover throughout the whole process. Lastly, droids move in to clean up and finish the clones off. Move out"

Half of the forces split onto the west mountainside, awaiting the clone cargo shipment. The juggernauts containing resources turn a corner, into view of the awaiting separatist forces on either side.

"Wait, hold fire until they get closer....... NOW!" Grievous commands.

A huge storm of blaster fire rains down onto the unsuspecting clones below.

Clones fall left and right, the surviving ones rushing to return fire, knocking out a few droids. The AAT's snipe the Juggernaut using their main cannons. They fire systematically, first at the wheels then the turret and finally the cockpit. With the majority of the clone forces depleted, Grievous jumps down, landing with a menacing boom.

He stands over the clones, reaches out for his lightsabers and ignites them.

"For the stupid clones I don't even need four arms." Grievous boasts.

"Stupid clones eh? Block this then!" A clone, nicknamed Bruiser tosses a thermal imploder grenade at Grievous' feet.

He leaps out of the way, barely in time to avoid being burned. The shockwave hits him and he is flung backwards.

"Blast the general!" The clone orders. They open up with bright blue blaster bolts and Grievous deflects them. He starts spinning his sabers, creating a impenetrable defense as he advances forward. He leaps forward, stabbing a clone as he lands, the limp corpse falling to the ground. A cackling laugh emerges from Grievous as he slices a DC-15 in half, and cuts the trooper in half with his other saber, then reaches onto another clone with his clawed feet, slamming him onto the ground. From the distraction of this fight, Bruiser runs into a Juggernaut turret and aims it at Grievous. It catches him off guard, shredding some of his armor and making him recoil in pain.  He continues the barrage of heavy blaster fire, forcing Grievous to dodge and to buy time for his clone brothers.

"Heheheha! Eat laser clanka!" Bruiser yells in joy.

The resources are lost however, as the juggernauts are unable to move and block the valley. Grievous retreats because the job is complete on the ground and the clones have to make it back to tell the Jedi and high command.

"The job is done, fall back so we can continue the air assault"

The droid forces retreat back onto the stealth ship and into the Invisible Hand.

Sorry for being so late, a lot of things got in the way but I hope you enjoy this chapter and the storyline so far. If there are any suggestions or ideas feel free to comment them.
