Chapter 16

Niall pulls into Mandy's driveway and I feel nervous... how am I going to explain myself? But if I think of it, she'll be happy for me! I look at Niall and he looks sad.
"Hey, what's up?" I ask him, putting my hand on his.
"I've just had a good time with you, even though its only been a few hours..."
"Aw, don't worry sweetie! We'll definitely hang out again!"
"Hannah I wanted to ask... I was wondering if you'd be my girlfriend? I know we've only known each other for six months and a bit, and I'm your teacher... but I can try make it work?"
I am honestly so shocked. I have to actually think of this. Am I ready to be a secret girlfriend? Am I prepared for any complications? Am I prepared for what is going to happen if people find out?
"I- I-" Niall starts to look down. I'm trying to say yes but it wont come out. I feel bad for leaving him hanging for so long but I haven't had a boyfriend in a long time- purposely.
"I will... be your girlfriend that is" his face lights up and he grabs my face, kissing me hard. He pulls back.
"I'm sorry, I was just really-" I cut him off when I kiss him. We start getting into the kiss when he licks my bottom lip and I pull away.
"I'm sorry, I'll take things slow" he says, squeezing my hand.
"I should be going, thank you so much for everything, Niall" I smile at him before giving him another kiss. I get my things from the back and wave him off before going around the back. I walk up the patio before seeing a sobbing mess curled in the corner- Mandy. I drop my stuff and run up to her.
"Oh my god what happened are you okay?" I tremble.
"You're alive? I thought something happened to you! All this stuff happened and then I couldn't find you! Where were you? I needed you"
"I had a rough night, too.. long story short, my phone is gone and I was almost raped" her face just drops and she presses for more.
"I'll tell you the full story, but first you need to tell me what happened with you" she just looks at me and starts to cry more.
"well.. you know Dan? Well I was hanging out with him for the night and then we were both drinking." She sniffs ." And then he was all over me. He was like 'do you want to get out of here' and then I started to realise he wanted sex. So I said I didn't want to leave and he said that we were going to have sex. So obviously I said no and he got real mad and said that he only put in effort because he thought I'd have sex with him. And when I asked if he ever had feelings for me he said no. he said that if I wouldn't have sex with him, he'd find someone who would. He immediately walked off and started to make out with some wasted, half naked whore. I went outside for fresh air and I started crying and it was super embarrassing so I went to a dark spot at the side of her house. I was there for a few minutes before this really nice guy came and sat next to me. He let me cry for a bit before he said that it looked like I needed someone to talk to. You know how I never really reveal my feelings? Well for some reason I just told him everything, and he just listened. I told him how Dan and I had done quite a lot together and how he dumped me because I wouldn't have sex with him. He joked about smacking Dan around a bit and he tried to make me laugh. He then offered me a ride home. I know I shouldn't have gone in a car with a stranger but I just wanted out of there. I tried calling you but you wouldn't answer. He took me home, didn't try anything, just brought me home. He gave me his number and was like 'by the way, I'm Harry' and I just died. Oh did I tell you!! HE'S BRITISH AND HOT AND HIS VOICE IS REALLY DEEP" I see her starting to get really hyper and it makes me happy because she is distracting herself from the poophead. "Then when I got home, I kept trying to call you and I started worrying because I saw all these posts about a fight involving the 'new girl' and some guys then you left with the winner and I was worried". Well shit. This is so embarrassing. How am I going to explain myself to people on Monday? I'll just deal with it. I give her a huge hug. I know if I open my mouth, I will just go crazy.
"I'm not going to ask you for a response, because I know exactly what will happen. I just want you to tell me what happened."
"I was hanging out with some people and we were drinking and stuff and then Brittney was there and she's actually real cool. And then I was dared to drink this punch and I did and then I started losing my shit and so Brittney took me outside and went to get me water. Then this guy was all over me and I started to pass out. Next thing I wake up with the worst hangover in some dudes house! And I thought I went home with that guy and I started to cry. Then in walks Niall!"
"NIALL?" Mandy yells.
"Shhh yes, Niall! Anyways, he came in and gave me ibuprofen and water and he had the curtains shut. Keep in mind that I am in his bed, in undies and his shirt! He then told me what happened. I drunk texted and called him and he heard the guy all over me. So he came to the party and knocked him out then took me home. I'm guessing my phone is still there. Yeah and so he took me to his and then apparently I started stripping! He dressed me and put me to sleep and then yeah that was his story. Then he made THE BEST breakfast and got us Starbucks, then I did the dishes and we had a water fight and holy shit he like had his arms around my waist! And he picked me up and tried to throw me in the pool but instead let me go brush my teeth. Then we were cuddling on the couch, just talking about family and then we kissed," her jaw drops and she starts to smile but I hold my hand up at her," and then I realised the time and he brought me here and in the car he asked me to be his girlfriend and we kissed some more and pretty much yeah we're dating. Secretly."
"Do you know what you've gotten yourself into?" she asks
"yes. I do. We are keeping it secret. You cannot tell anyone! I'm not even going to tell mor.." she just nods and hugs me.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that Han, but think of it... you finally got what you wanted- Niall!" she says enthusiastically.
"I guess you're right Ama, and I cant wait to meet this Harry gentleman"
"I doubt I'll see him again.. I don't think the number is real and if it was he was probably just being polite. I know he doesn't actually want me to call him." I give her a 'seriously?' face and she just shrugs. We walk into her room and I secretly steal her phone. Underneath her phone is a piece of paper with 'Harry- 046****652 call me x' written on it. I type the number into her phone and up comes the name Hazza x. Oh my word that is adorable, she came up with a nickname for him!

I click send and wait.

Hey Mandy, how are you? Feeling better? Did you find your friend?

Well.. that was quick..

I'm feeling a lot better, thank you so much for what you did! I really appreciate it. I found her, luckily in one piece :P

Oooh lucky ;) Anyways, I was wondering, would you like to hang out some time? I understand if you don't want to x

Oh shit. I need to show Mandy this.
"umm.. girly... you should have a look at this." I give her her phone and she gasps, hitting my arm.
"YOU BITCH YOU TEXTED HIM OH MY GOD HE TEXTED BACK OH MY LAWD HE WANTS TO GO OUT OH LAWD" Her fingers type vigorously and I look at what she said, 'yeah, I'd love to! Do you like Starbucks?', aw she's such a cutie, trying to play it cool. I go to reach to get my phone but then remember that its missing.
"oi, if I don't have a phone, you don't! hand it over"
"but-"
"uh-uh! We're going to be social!" she hands over the phone after sending a quick message and we put a movie on, before jumping into her bed.

I can feel everyone's eyes on me as I put my bag in my locker. Brittney walks up to Mandy and I and smiles.
"Hey Hannah! You're alright! I came outside to find you but you were gone!"
"Yeah, I left aha" I talk around the sitch.
"Aw that's unfortunate! I was surprised you were okay after drinking the punch.."
"yeah, I've got guts of steel!"
"Oh and I wanted to know- are the rumours true? Did you leave with the winner of the fight?"
"Actually, I did. Not because he won, I just needed a ride home and he offered."
"ooh, that's logical. Why does everyone always exaggerate?"
"Well that's kind of what your group does.."
"About that.. I really thought about what you said to me at the party and I don't think I should hang out with Carley anymore. Do you think I could hang with you two?" she asks and I look at Mandy.
"By the way, Mandy, is it? I am really sorry if I said or did anything to offend you.. But I'd like to make it up to you."
"yeah, that's alright. It'll be nice to expand our group." She replies. Brittney looks at me again.
"Before I forget, I found your phone! I figured it was yours because it had a selfie of you and Mandy on it and you had like a thousand missed calls. Mostly from Mandy but the rest were from a McDreamy" she winks at me. Immediately I choke up. Shit did she read my messages? Pff of course she didn't, I have a password. I see her staring at me waiting for a reply.
"Oh, that's one of my friends from Sweden. He's been one of my best friends since I was little, and he's a joker! So yeah he named himself.. That.." I hope that she can't see through my awkward excuse and it seems like she believes me. She just laughs and says she'll see us at lunch.
"Woah what happened at that party?" Mandy asks.
"We played truth or dare and I found out she doesn't even like Carley!"
"Really!" she whisper-yells.
"Yes, really!" I close my locker and start walking to class. Lucky me, it's Maths.
