Look to the sky

Cordelia sat on the shore with Kayla. They looked up the sky relying the latest shit that has happened around the kingdom. The princess was reading, listening to the heir take before looking up to them and asking, "Lia, why do you always look up to the sky when taking about large topics?" Cordelia paused and thought about how to answer before smiling and looking at Kayla.

"I look t the sky and think about all the tells that has been told under, come from it, and how large the world really is and how small we are compared to it. Our lifetime is nothing to that of stars and the star we see could be dead and gone before even even see their light reach us. It gives me prospective as I talk, makes me think of other realities and worlds like our own." They explained a gently smile displayed for the princess. They usually has lazy or forced smiles on their face but around the royal by their side they just has a soft easy going smile just reserved for her. Kayla smiles and nods leaning against her merfolk friend, "That's an interesting idea, you always have the weirdest but interesting ideas Lia." Cordelia laughs and hugs the princess before getting up and diving into the water, popping back up and sets a hand on Kayla's knee and felt thee princess set her hand atop their own. Her other hand going to her mouth and a small giggle escaping. Cordelia sighs happily and rest their head on their free hand. 

They liked Kayla as a friend but at times like this it felt more like something else, which it cant be the heir was aromantic like the princess in front of them. But at sweet times like this all they could think was how lucky they were to be so close with the normally uptight ready to lead princess.
