THE COAST
MORNING
╰━ ⋅✶⋅ ━━✶━━ ⋅✶⋅ ━╯

✧──────✦ as a celebration for the newly produced company, hobin suggested a trip to the beach. he'd even offered to pay for their bus tickets, a 'say less' decision for jaehwa.

the girls headed to the coast while hobin and the other guys boasted about the trip and how he was an amazing ceo. rumi pulled her phone out and began streaming once they were out of ear shot.

"i bet you've never been on a trip like this!" rumi giggled, trying to act for the camera.

gaeul playfully punched her gut, "i've gone on lots of vacations!"

"i meant with friends, silly!"

"how can i go on a trip with friends if i don't have any!" rumi agreed with her and jaehwa was just surprised at their brute honesty.

they regrouped together and jihyeok gasped and pointed to a group of students. "isn't that yeonu?"

jaehwa moved her attention to the students pushing wheelchairs of the elderly and recognized him as one of the people at the restaurant. after a couple of seconds of research, she found out that he was just a popular study newtuber. maybe if all went well, she'd ask him to tutor her.

"is that bomi?" jihyeok pointed again and slowly turned to hobin, who looked three seconds away from shitting his pants. "what's the chance they'd be here at the same time as us!" what a coincidence that hobin's infatuation happens to be at the same beach at the same time as them.

"what a coincidence!" hobin was visibly sweating buckets as they rolled down his neck and forehead. the others surrounded him as a form of interrogation.

"you didn't ask us to go on this trip because you heard they were volunteering together, and you didn't want anyone to make a move on her. did you?"

"i'm getting goosebumps." hobin stared at the ground and kicked the pebbles of the sidewalk. jaehwa shook her head, what a creep. but at least she now had an all expenses paid vacation.

"just show me the way to the hotel." taehoon complained, wheeling around his massive suitcase. jaehwa walked away with him, lugging a small duffel with the bare essentials.

as the sun set, the boys went off to do whatever, while jaehwa and the others trudged to the beach. along the way, they'd even met up with bomi and invited her along. now they sat along the concrete steps outside of a convenience store.

rumi complimented bomi for the first five minutes, obviously jealous of something. jaehwa didn't understand why the girls, all ten out of tens, had the hots for solid five, and that was being generous, but maybe being a good fighter made a five into a nine.

jaehwa sat on the top step while gaeul sat in between her legs, using them as an armrest. bomi and rumi sat in their own bubble, arguing about who was prettier.

"are you ladies here with friends or is it just the four of you?"

the four looked up to make eye contact with three guys that wore the same disgusting, douchebag smirk that made their eyebrows move into weird positions.

gaeul jumped at the chance, "there's actually seven of us!" jaehwa pulled her to sit back down, and tried to get her to understand that this situation wasn't like the one she was thinking.

rumi responded first, "we aren't looking for anyone new to hang out with."

"let us park here for a little," one with badly bleached hair laughed while failing to light a cigarette. his tank top showed off his many tattoos and jaehwa thought that there was no possible way he was young enough to legally be around them.

"why'd you sit here when there's so many other places?" gaeul continued to smile while the others turned their bodies away to get away from the boys who were all too close for comfort.

"come on, we'll give you a good time." the second guy with a horrible bowl haircut spoke to rumi.

"why don't we go get some drinks?" the blonde said.

"we're minors."

"really?" the man with the bad haircut wrapped his arm around rumi's shoulders. "you could've fooled me with that body."

jaehwa had her drink spilled on his head before he finished the sentence. "quit being fucking creeps."

before she could stand up to physically make them leave, bomi stood up and shouted, "they're trying to make a move on minors!"

the first one to stand up was the largest one, the one that made jaehwa the most nervous since he was all too quiet during the initial conversation. the others followed after, muttering swear words and curses.

hobin and jihyeok ran up half a minute later with duck floats around their waist. "are you okay? did someone try to pick a fight?"

the next morning rolled around and the girls woke up in a cluster on the hotel bed. they'd played a game of monopoly that ended in arguments and a mass robbery from the bank.

jaehwa ended up spending the entire day with taehoon. since they were at the beach, of course they'd have to swim.

it turned out to be a horrible idea since neither of them bothered to put on sunscreen. jaehwa wasn't as burnt because she was already more on the tan side and was just genetically lucky, but taehoon was the complete opposite.

"your back is really red."

"i know, you don't have to point it out." taehoon slowly lifted the shirt over his head and let it drop over his head. jaehwa felt bad for rubbing it in (she definitely wasn't) and grabbed a cold water bottle from their cooler and pressed it against his back.

he'd jumped like a cat and glared back at jaehwa who wore a badly covered smile. "i thought it would help."

"bullshit." taehoon snatched the bottle out of her hand and pressed it around on his face as she helped pull his shirt down his back.

as they were walking back to the hotel, taehoon pulled out his phone and showed a picture yeonu to jaehwa. "doesn't he look familiar."

she was about to say he was paranoid but after a few seconds, she put her hand over her mouth. "isn't that...?"

they'd rushed over to where hobin and his cameraman were and found yeonu fighting the creeps from earlier. despite the constant hits the men were delivering to him, he'd stayed unmoved and held a stance while the others winced in pain.

kyokushin karate is what it was called.

before jaehwa could turn to taehoon, he'd already made his way up to yeonu. she just sighed and went over to stand beside hobin while taehoon worked out whatever frustrations he had with the guy.
