Okay sorry I haven't updated in a while. I like to have a few chapters pre-written before I update but since I haven't updated in a while I posted earlier than I expected. I might end up changing the title for this book since I don't really like it since it, like most books, is not what I originally planned.  Hope you enjoy! Un-edited and I own all rights. Vote, Comment, and Fan! :D

It has been four hours since Scarlett disappeared into the west wing, talking to her father. Everyone in the castle seemed tense except for may-belle, who was kept ignorant to whatever was going on. Kane wasn't sure either, but he knew it was something important.

He was given the task to play with may belle. They were currently in the dinning room. Kane was helping May-Belle ice some cupcakes they had made earlier (with the help of Martha). May-Belle finished the cupcake and smiled proudly. It was obvious she did this regularly by her perfection.

"Do you guys make cupcakes a lot?" Kane asked as he tried to get rid of the extra icing on the cupcakes he was working on.

"Martha bakes when she's worried so sissy and I have a lot of practice." May-Belle said. "Can we play in my play room?"

"Sure. Wanna brig the cupcakes?" Kane said.

May-Belle nodded. They grabbed a plural and put the cupcakes on it. May-Belle lead Kane into a room in the west tower. She kept saying that this was the way to the play room. Since Kane doesn't know the house well enough, he could only follow the child. They eventually came to a large wooden door. May-Belle pushed it open. What they saw was unbelievable.

"Sissy!" May-Belle cried as she ran to Scarlett who laid motionless on the wooden floor. Kane placed the tray on the floor and ran over to them. Scarlett opened her eyes half way and gave a weak smile to May-Belle. "What happened?" May-Belle asked, tears at her eyes.

Scarlett sat herself up and pulled May-Belle onto her lap. "Nothing baby, I'm fine. Now what are you two doing in her?" She asked softly.

"I wanted to play with Kane in here. Want to play with us?" May-Belle asked.

"Sure."

May-Belle clapped her hands happily. "Yay! Now I have two play mates." May-Belle said happily. "We also made cupcakes." May-Belle jumped up and scurried over to the tray and set it in front of Scarlett, then sat on her lap. She handed Scarlett one and then took one for herself. "Try one Kane. They're really yummy."

Kane hesitantly took one and ate it. He sat down a little bit away from the young master and May-Belle. He was perplexed about Scarlett. She has definitely has prove herself to be cold hearted, yet she's so loving to May-Belle. It was obvious that Marcy and Jasper feared her, but Martha and Joseph didn't. Everyone seemed to have different ways of seeing her. Was it because she showed different sides of herself to each one? Her good and bad sides? Or were they just afraid of her because of her appearance? Kane didn't know, but what he did know is that his curiosity will get the best of him. Like always.

They spent the time playing with May-Belle. They had a small tea party, she put on a fashion show with costumes from an old trunk, and even rode on Kane's back like he was a horse. While Kane was giving May-Belle a horse ride, the door slammed open. Joseph stood in the doorway with eyes that could kill.

"You. Here. Now." He growled out at Scarlett through gritted teeth.

"No, I'm fine." Scarlett said.

"Now." He growled lowly. He clenched his fists at his side. May-Belle tightened her grip and quivered. Scarlett's eyes darted to May-Belle and back to Joseph. She sighed and stood up, and stumbled towards Joseph.
