Chapter 9.5 - Part 2 "The poor boy"

"Did you Called your highness?" Making a small bow as he coughed nonstop and shed small tears from his eyes, Lucas glanced at Athanasia still bowing and then at Julliete who whistled, super discreetly *cough* feigning the purest of innocence as she walked around the room trying to hide her enthusiasm but failing miserably

"Oh yes, Hmm....sir knight, thank you for your time, you can leave now" Smiling she dispatched the knight so that she could begin her 'adventure'

When the knight left everyone's faces changed, Julliete stopped whistling pretending to be unaware of the conversation and the world around her and started to smile broadly, Athanasia laughed thinking of some kind of revenge to make the magician pay for his attitudes towards her in those few days and Lucas, well he raised his head crossed his arms and was looking at them like they were idiots and crazy, more at Athanasia because for him the other girl next to her was practically nonexistent

Juliette noticing his disinterest in him smiled even more 'Uncle always says to be satisfied when our prey doesn't know our plans, well he didn't tell me directly but I hear behind the doors so it's the same, in fact I think he even knows about my habit so I'm sure he said it intentionally to make me learn a life lesson, more or less'

"Lucas? Do you remember when you almost killed me sending me to the Alpheus mansion"

Feigning ignorance to such an event he denied "No" And added "And if I had done that I'm sure I would never put you in danger"

"I fell from the sky!!!" she complained loudly

"And my back caught her" Julliete said while moving a small boat made of wood on a shelf wanting to participate in the conversation

"It was a side effect, I'm so adorable, how could I do such a mean thing?" Blinking his eyes innocently and moving his hands as if he were a boy who was being wronged

Athanasia looked at him in disgust, as if he were an insect she wants to squash

"Stop pretending, there's no need to pretend here." Athanasia said crossing her arms

"It's true, I'm much worse than you so you don't have to pretend" He looked at Julliete and she blinked her eyes softly and BEAM gave him a smile more innocent than an angel "You can't beat me at my own game, weak amateur imitation"

Completely breaking his act, Lucas said a little annoyed "Aren't you afraid of death?!"

"Me?" She asked pointing to herself 'Of course I do, idiot' she thought "Of course not, who would dare kill such a cute thing like me" she put her index finger on her cheek and winked

And he made the "Bleh" sound by sticking his tongue out

"I see, your tastes must be horrible"

and he laughed

"Oh no" Going back to his farce "Athanasia if I like you, and she called my tastes horrible, does that mean she called you disgusting?" he asked feigning ignorance

"Ah?" Athanasia was speechless at how ridiculous it sounded

"How the hell did you came to this conclusion?"

"But I can't allow her to call you disgusting, and I don't think the king can either"

Translation: I will say that you called the beloved daughter of the king disgusting and you are done for.

Juliette for the first *cough* Okay, tenth time that week backed away in amazement

Only Jennette had made her a come back like the one he made

But his hadn't been that powerful and she knew how to get over it

"Oh my, but then I would also have to tell him that you are in love with the princess, according to your words" and she laughed "Want to go to the guillotine with me, hmm?

"And who said that? Who said he's going to believe your words?"

"And who said he will believe YOUR words"

"I saved his daughter from death!" he pointed at her as if he had to defend himself

'So now we don't even try to hide that fact, alright'

"And I'm going to make her live the greatest joy of her life! Ah!"

"And who said he wanted that to happen"

"The fact that he'll kill you if he knows you like her."

"But I don't like her! Haha"

And now she's back to smiling

"So I didn't call the princess disgusting but your likes, and since you don't like her, you can't accuse me of anything, am I right?"

And when Lucas realized what he had said it was too late and oddly enough he blushed in embarrassment as he recoiled from his defeat

And to hide what just happened he shrugged his shoulders, crossed his arms and threw himself on the couch feigning disinterest

"What a stupid conversation, I can't believe I wasted my time on this"

And that made Julliete's smirk grow even wider and make her brash her head up proudly.

'I think I'm non-existent in this conversation' Athanasia thought completely disconcerted by the conversation she had witnessed
