"JC, calm down" I sighed "you're protected, we'll hashtag girlsnightout so that no one would even think about Obie not being here" JC and Obie had broken up just two days ago and it was a problem not having him around, we were currently in an elevator going to Dumbo Hall with Luna and Monet

"How long can we do that?" she asked "people are going to start to notice that he's missing"

"Well, you're safe through SelfcareSunday" Monet informed her "Metimemonday, Dinnerswithdaddy, Girlsjustwanttohavesun, petsforvets, pilatesparty, shoppingwithmysisters, and of course thankyouessentialworkers, so you have two days to get him back"  

"And you will" Luna assured her "this is just like that time you took a selfie in front of the Paul Smith wall in L. A  and didn't notice the homeless encampment in the BG, you apologized, wore that Bernie babe tee for a week and everything was forgiven"

"I'll talk to him as soon as he gets here" JC nodded "apologize again, as many tries as it takes, I miss him, he just needs to hear that from me and things can go back to normal, the way they were, right?"

"Sure"

"Of course"

"Totaly" we got out of the elevator and started to find our friends 

"Oh thank god" I grinned and turned around to see Max walking up to me "I'm bored," he told me

"Only boring people are bored," I said "you are uninspired" I tugged at his cardigan a little 

"Then inspire me" he chuckled "you know, you are one of the last people in here that I don't know intimately" I rolled my eyes, thank god I had blush on, I was used to his flirting but this time my feelings were different 

"You've just gotta close your eyes and pretend someone's new," I said

"How monoga- musty, no, I do not have to close my eyes and fantasize about anything, I allow myself to sample everything" he looked me up and down "how about you Aki? two hands alone can not stimulate and I count six among us"

"Aki has a girlfriend, in case you've forgotten" I sniffed "and I'm afraid that I'm gonna have to pass"

"Oh" Audrey walked up to us "looks like someone didn't want to show up to parent-teacher conferences" we turned to see one of our teachers coming out of the elevator 

"Perhaps he's more interested in the student-teacher congress?" Max suggested with a smirk

"I need a drink" I walked away from my friends and went to go find the bar, I got a chime on my phone and saw an email from my school "god" I groaned opening it 

Dear Carter,

We're sorry you were unable to attend tonight's parent-teacher meetings, if you would like to speak to the faculty, in regards to Catherine's progress, please do not hesitate to reach out.

I rolled my eyes and sighed, my dad never showed up to those kinds of things, I rubbed my forehead and went into the bathroom, I frowned into the mirror but I didn't want to cry, that's when the bathroom door swung open  "Max, what are you doing in here?" I asked wearily 

"I've had almost all of Dumbo Hall," he said 

"I know, you just told me that like 10 minutes ago" 

"Wanna take part in a game or two?" he asked with a smirk 

"I don't fuck my friends," I told him, I was lucky that I had such great self-control "I'm going to pretend that this conversation never happened"  I walked out of the bathroom and Max grabbed my wrist softly 

"Cat" he stared at me, I wanted to kiss him so badly, I had no idea where these feelings had come from, it was so new and foreign 

"No" I shook my head "we can't Maxi" walking away once more, I couldn't let myself give in for the sake of our friendship 

Spotted: something more rare than the Manderin duck, a Zobie spotting in the wilds of the Upper West. Only a matter of time before they left their nest, but where do you think they fall on the food chain? Guess we'll find out since something tells me their about to be eaten alive

"They're allowed to hang," Aki said as I sat down next to Audrey "it doesn't mean anything"

"Yeah, he said he was going to bed" Monet snapped "he didn't say with who or where" 

"Are you trying to incite a riot" Audrey asked 

"Yes" I mumbled 

"Jules" Monet turned to JC "you can't let them get away with this, quash her" 

"I agree, as I told you, people want a power play" I took a sip of my martini "your followers are bolting JC, you are the queen, you can take her down" 

"We don't do hierarchy remember?" JC frowned at her phone 

"That's because everyone knew you were on top," I said "now they aren't so sure"

"Show them" Monet spat "smite her, smite her now, oh fine" she grabbed JC's phone 

"What are you doing?" Aki asked 

"A little Flashbackfriday" Monet told him, she held up a picture of JC with Obie at Dumbo Hall in the same dress, I smirked 

"It's more chartreuse than a moss" Luna grinned "but I don't think anyone will notice with the right filter"

"So you're going to pretend that he's with you right now?" Aki frowned "instead of with her?" 

"Yeah, won't Obie bust you?" Audrey raised an eyebrow 

"He's not even on IG," JC said and she started typing furiously "I'm taking down Gossip girl at the same time"

"Two birds, one stone" I smiled "I like it JC" 

"Crisis 'O' averted," Audrey said 

"The Ju lions are already mauling GG" Monet held her phone up to show comments under the most recent Gossip Girl post "before you know it that bitch will be spammed out of existence even more swiftly than scooter" 

"I'll bet Gossip Girl takes that one down" Luna sniffed "but the next pics she gets of them you won't be able to spin"

"What are you saying?" JC asked 

"One down, one to go," Monet said 

"Shuffle off that Buffle-hoe" I finished my drink

"I can't do that"

"It's you or her babe, "Monet told her "No one follows a band ambassador for failure"
