I winced as someone slammed their locker shut, my head hurt like a bitch. I hate having a hangover and that space coke makes everything worse. I held a tray with orange juice, water, and some Advil in front of me. I had my coffee on the way to school. I saw Max in the courtyard and I went over to him.

"I feel like I'm being hit in the head with a mallet" I groaned leaning against him 

"Tell me about it" he sighed, his hangover was almost as bad as mine "I shouldn't have let you take that coke"

"No shit" I groaned rubbing my head, it hurt so badly, and even with sunglasses it was still too bright out 

"Hey" Aki walked over with a  very serious look on his face "can I talk to Max" I assumed he meant privately so I nodded and stood up. I gave Max a quick kiss on the cheek and walked out of the courtyard. I saw Julien and I stood next to her 

"Oh, hi" she grumbled laying her head on her locker "I feel sick"

"I know" I sat on the floor, I must be really bad because I will never, ever, sit on the floor "how's everything going with your dad? did you confront him?"

"No, of course not" JC frowned "he would lose his shit if he knew that I saw him at the club last night" 

"Progress report on the sins of our fathers?" Max came over, that was a quick talk with Aki 

"I searched the entire house last night" Julien groaned "I couldn't find a thing, No hidden passage from the entrance to his room, no stray La Perlas in the closet, no sign of a girlfriend at all, so he is hiding her, but why?" 

"He thinks you'll be upset" I spoke up "he probably thinks that you'll think that he's trying to replace your mother with this new woman, he doesn't want to upset you" 

"Maybe" JC considered it for a moment "I insta-stalked her. Lola Morgan. singer, songwriter" 

"That tracks," Max said scrolling through JC's phone  

"I'm determined to gain clarity on this" JC told us "what about you" 

"I gently prodded dad and he said they've never opened so I don't know why pops is on there "newly single" so of course, I had to take drastic measures"

"Maxi, what did you do," I asked tugging on his sleeve, I was still on the ground too tired to get up

"He probably has his reasons, maybe just leave it alone?" JC suggested 

"Maybe Davis has his and you should too" Max retorted, Max started to walk away and he closed Julien's locker but hard and it made a very loud noise

"Max" I groaned covering my ears 

"I'm sorry baby" he sat down next to me and kissed the top of my head "I know it's painful" 

"You've got that right" I sighed snuggling into his arms

"What are you doing" I walked over to Audrey with Julien behind me, we were waiting in the lobby for the play to start and she was standing by herself awkwardly 

"Cat" she jumped up and gave me a sad look "I need to tell you something but you can't be mad"

"I can't promise that," I told her "like if you were to murder my family-"

"I slept with Max but it was before you two got together and it was a one-time thing, I love Aki and I don't want to be with Max, are you mad?" she rambled

I laughed a bit "Audrey I'm not mad, if you say it was before we got together then I would really have no right to be upset, it's not like he cheated on me
