"So, uh how's it going with Max?" Aki asked as we walked together, somehow I had become closer with Aki, it was really random 

"It's going pretty well," I told him "sometimes I feel like he's hiding something from me though, whenever we do something he's always rushing off in the middle of it with no explanation" 

"Well, maybe it's his dad. You know what a hard time his pop has been having and he probably doesn't want to worry you"

"Maybe, I hope that's all it is," I said with a bit of a nervous laugh 

"Hey, Z, what's wrong" Aki walked forward to Zoya who had a distressed look on her face 

"I'm just trying to scrounge up some people for thanksgiving, so far, no takers, I'd invite you but I know you have plans with Obie and Cat, you're going to Audrey's" she frowned 

"Apparently not this year," Aki said 

"When did that happen?" I asked, "he's backing down on the thanksgiving tradition?" Zoya and I exchanged a confused look

"Yeah, it confused me too" Aki stuck his hands in his pockets and rocked back and forth 

"You know what, I'll come to dinner" I announced, "but could my dad and Jamie come too?" 

"Yeah, sure," Zoya said quickly, she was obviously very distracted with the news Aki had just told her. She quickly walked away 

"Thanks for the invite" Aki called after her before walking to class. When he left my phone chimed and I opened the notification to a new GG post

Holiday update from yours truly. Here to serve a second helping of something you can be grateful for. In the tradition of my predecessor, I've decided to take the day off and give thanks of my own, nothing scandalous ever happens over the holidays right? So hold those you love close and be grateful for what you have. Cause without me to guide you, who knows what will happen.

"So, I know you wanted a small thanksgiving with Kiki, so I got Jamie, my dad, and me, invites somewhere else for dinner," I told Audrey in the bathroom 

"Really!" she gasped "you know I love you but Kiki will feel so much better if it's just the two of us, thank you" I laughed and continued applying lipgloss. We heard two sets of footsteps hammering towards the bathroom and quickly rushed into the stalls so we could hear whatever was about to go down. 

"Ok, I feel like I'm going crazy so I'm going to give you one chance to tell me the truth" It was Zoya and she was probably talking to Julien 

"The truth?" yep it was Jules 

"I didn't forget what you said at the protest, you're still in love with Obie" 

"And he chose you," Julien said, Zoya might not have been able to tell the lie there but I could, you could hear the tiny quiver in her voice "we were together a long time so ok it's taking me a little while to get over him completely but I will because I want what's best for him and you" 

"How come it feels like you guys are having private conversations when I show up" ooh this was going to be a hard one to answer 

"Those conversations are about you" Julien blurted out "the truth, Obie feels like you've been pulling away from him, yeah, that's why he's been acting so weird, he just doesn't know how you feel about him anymore" she seemed like she was convincing herself of this theory 

"Really?" Zoya asked softly 

"Really, you know him, whenever he feels unsure about something he just completely shuts down, major character flaw but if you still feel about him the way that I think that you do, just reassure him that everything's ok on your end, trust me"

"Ok, I hate being mad at you"

"I hate it too, it's terrifying" Julien laughed nervously before Zoya left the bathroom 

"You slept with Obie" Audrey gasped throwing herself out of the stall 

"I did no such thing" Julien snapped 

"Wait, you didn't know?" I asked looking at Audrey 

"You did and you just sent her right back to him" Audrey sighed 

"I don't want to hurt her" Julien frowned 

"So you'd rather hurt yourself" I scoffed "you haven't stopped loving him since the day you broke up and now if there's a chance-"

"No I can't" Julien cut me off "I can't handle this, I've been so nervous that GG will find out, when I found out she was taking a day off I breathed a literal sigh of relief"

"You've been doing that a lot lately" I laughed "anyway, I'm gonna go find Max, see ya" I quickly exited the bathroom. I barely even had to walk before I found him 

"Max!" I called, he turned around and smiled as I gave him a quick kiss "I feel like I haven't seen you in a while"

"You saw me yesterday for dinner" he laughed taking my hand "you just can't get enough of me can you"

"Shut up" I rolled my eyes before laying my head on his shoulder "so a change of plans I'm going to Zoya's for thanksgiving"

"Zoya, that's a surprise"

"I know but I didn't want to make Kiki uncomfortable when she comes home from the hospital"

"You're a good friend, did you know that," he said playing with my hair softly 

"Obviously" I giggled 

I know I've promised a quiet thanksgiving but girls' work is never done and once you see what I'm bringing to dinner you'll be happy I didn't stay away for long watch this space for just deserts. 

"She can't stay away for long" I groaned 

"Want to go get something to eat?" Max asked "get our mind off of the crazy things happening in our world"

"Ok" I chuckled as we exited the school. 

Guys, I already know how I'm going to end this season!! I have such a good idea, let's just say Monet is a huge part of it.
