"Y/n, come on, wake up" Jonah lightly nudged my arm as he whispered quietly beside me"What time is it?" I mumbled, throwing the blanket over my face, blocking out the sun
"It's 1 in the afternoon. We've got a lot of things to do today so I need you to get that beautiful ass up, okay?" Jonah's words were sweet until he threw off the blanket, blinding me with the unnecessary lightening
"What's so important that we have to do on a Thursday afternoon, huh?" I rubbed my eyes before looking at Jonah, laying in bed beside me. He smiled at me as he spun a red velvet box in his hand.
"Oh god, you're not proposing, are you?" I lightly giggled as Jonah rolled his eyes
"I'm not, but glad to know that's how you'll react if I ever do" He sounded offended
"No, that's not how I meant that to come out, I just thought it was too early. I'd be honoured to marry you one day"
"Now it sounds like you're proposing to me" Jonah chuckled while shaking his head
"Turn around"
I gave Jonah a weird look before I turned around. I heard the box open before Jonah brushed my hair to the side. Both of his hands came in front of me as he placed a necklace around my neck. He did up the back for me before placing my hair back to it's original spot.
I looked down seeing a gorgeous silver chain with two little charms with the letters, 'J.M.'
I looked back at Jonah with a small pout on my lips, it was so beautiful
"I love it Jonah, thank you" Jonah put his hand around the back of my neck, pulling me so my lips crashed onto his.
"Get ready, we have to go buy you a dress" Jonah got out of bed, as I squinted my eyes.
He walked over to the closet, changing into a pair of blank jeans and a piece of his bands merch.
"Why do I need a dress?" I scurried out of bed to the closet, grabbing out leggings and a sweater
"Work is having a little gala, and I'd like you to be my date, if that's okay" Jonah smiled at me as he threw on a blue Dodgers hat and some sunglasses
"A gala? So it's like, super fancy?" I felt a lump begin to form in my throat, I never been to a place that made you dress fancy.
"It's a black tie event, so it's very fancy" Jonah smirked as he was probably excited to see me in a fancy gown.
When we got into Jonah's car, I began to let my mind run with all these questions about the gala. He said it was for work, but which work? Was it a music gala or a gang gala?
"What's going on in that little brain of yours?" Jonah chuckled as he placed a hand on my thigh
"Which work is this gala for? Music or gang?" Jonah sighed
"Would it freak you out if it was for music?"
"No"
"Would it freak you out if it was for the gang?"
"A little" I mumbled
"Then it's for music" Jonah chuckled as he parked the car in a parking lot for a dress shop.
"Jonah!"
"Come on" Jonah got out of the car while I panicked.
Jonah came around to my door, helping me out of the car. He grabbed onto my hand as we walked into the shop full of gorgeous dresses.
My eyes couldn't even focus on one dress as I took them all in. It was crazy, and clearly very expensive.
"Hello, how can I help you two today?" A young lady came walking from the back of the store. Her high heels clicked against the marble floor, her tight black dress left nothing to the imagination as I caught Jonah staring.
"We're just looking for a dress for a black tie event" Jonah smiled politely as I tightened my grip on his hand from insecurities.
"Of course, all the long dresses are over here, follow me" We followed the woman to the other side of the store, towards all these gorgeous dresses.
I couldn't afford any of them, I hated that Jonah was buying me a dress like that, I'd never be able to pay him back for it
"Any style or colour that you're specifically looking for?" The woman turned to me and I must've looked like a deer in the headlights. I didn't know what I was looking for, I had never been to anything like that.
"Some neutral colour, nothing that stands out too much. Keep it simple" Jonah answered for me so I nodded along with him.
The woman went along, picking out a few for me to try on. Jonah said his fair share of no's because some were cut too low or the split in the leg was too high.
He didn't want me attracting any other men, but he did want to show me off so I understood where he was coming from.
We settled for a long black dress that glided nicely along the floor. There was a split up the side that went just a little higher than my knee and the chest was just a little showy.
As the woman rang the dress through, my jaw dropped. A simple dress like that could cost thousands? I would be wearing that dress everyday for the rest of my life to make sure Jonah got his money worth.
"Thank you Jonah, but you didn't have to spend that kind of money on a dress for me" I sighed as I slumped back into my seat in the car
"I gotta treat my princess like she's actually a princess. Don't worry about the money, I said I'd take care of you, didn't I? I promised your dad and everything" Jonah pulled out of the parking lot and rested his hand on my thigh.
As we drove, I couldn't get the thought of the night before out of my mind. Corbyn and Jonah came back with blood stained clothes. Did that mean they got Bunny?
"Jonah?" My voice came out in a low whisper, but I didn't know why
"Yes, doll face?"
"Did you get Bunny?" Jonah sighed, giving my thigh a light squeeze
"No, she somehow managed to get away"
"Then who's blood was soaking your shirt?" I asked but quite frankly, I didn't want to know
"Some people she's associated with. Don't worry about it Y/n, we've got people all over the city looking for her. She'll come out of hiding sometime, and when she does, we'll find her"
