Chapter 8: Secrets revealed pt2

Y/n arrived at his home and was ready for sleep. Once inside he went up to his room and began to change into his night clothes. As he was about to enter his bed Y/n catches a glimpse outside and sees a familiar feather gently falling. With a heavy sigh he activated his armor and went outside.

Standing on his roof was the one person he wished didn't appeare.

Y/n: Why are you here Katarina?

Katarina: No hello for a friend?

Y/n: We are not friends Katarina. I still do not trust you.

Katarina: And yet you are quick to befriend the fairy and the dark elf.

Y/n: They don't follow my every footstep. Now, why are you here?

Katarina moved close to him as before.

Katarina: I came to warn you. Your actions have gained the attention of powerful people.

Y/n: Chapel said as much when he and his men attacked.

Katarina: Yes, but it's not just the UFS. You also gained the attention of the Taimanin.

Y/n: The Taimanin?

Katarina: A faction made of demon hunter clans. They are not to be underestimated Y/n for they had killed powerful demons in the past. But they have suffered fracturing in recent years.

Y/n: Let me guess, some have sided with the demons they were trained to kill.

Katarina: Yes, but some have also sided with the UFS. I suggest laying low. At least till things cool down.

Y/n: Why? Tell me why are you trying to help me.

Katarina: Because, I see someone who could change a great many things. I would hate to see anything bad happen to you.

Y/n didn't know what to say to that. He didn't know to really trust her or knew her actual reasons for telling him all this. But what other choice did he have.

Y/n: I'll see what I can do. Just keep me informed of any possible threats.

Katarina: I'll do so on one condition.

Y/n: And that is?

Elsewhere:

Chapel was removing his armor as one of his men was sent into an infirmary. Once removed he inspected the damage to his armor. He soon heard the sound of footsteps heading towards him. Chapel turned his head and saw one of the scientist of the UFS, Emily Simmons.

Emily looked over the armor and saw the damage.

Emily: It would seem you underestimated your opponent. It's a surprise your still breathing.

She then noticed his damaged pauldron and how it was melted around where the hole was. Before she said anything Chapel handed her a small device. The device was attached to his helmet and recorded the entire event. Thankfully it wasn't damaged with the rest of his armor.

Emily took the device and watched what was on it. She was a bit surprised by what she saw. The armor given to Chapel was one of their best creations. Yet as she watched the battle Emily saw how their target was able to beat him.

Emily: It would seem we need more info on this new target.

Chapel: It won't be easy, especially given what he is capable of.

Emily: Then it would be best to observe him for now.

The next day:

Y/n was riding his motorcycle to the academy with Iori. As they got closer to their destination Y/n spotted a small crowd at the front of the academy. Once he parked the motorcycle both he and Iori removed their helmets. They were soon met by Yuria who looked concerned.
