Chapter 5: The hunt begins

A/n: Sorry for the long wait but here is the next chapter. It is a bit shorter then the previous chapter but expect the next one to have more excitement.

Iori awoke in the middle of the night after after having a dream of the incident at the hospital. She has had the same dream for a good week and she can't remember why. All she could remember was waking up with Y/n sitting by her side and telling her she fainted at the hospital and brought her home.

She tried to remember what it was that caused her to faint but she couldn't remember. She decided to try and clear her head and got out of her bed. As Iori left her room she thought about checking up on Y/n to see how he was doing. Once she got to his door she opened it a bit and peeked inside the room. Inside the room she saw Y/n sound asleep. She still was nervous with Y/n staying for the time being. Unknown to Y/n Iori had developed feelings for the foreign student. But she didn't know how he would react if she told him. What made it worse was she had a secret that only her parents know of along with her maids and butlers.

Unknown to her Y/n was still awake as he made it back mere minutes ago. As he tried to sleep he heard footsteps slowly moving towards him. He then felt the bed shift and cracked an eye to see what was going on. Y/n saw Iori had jumped into his bed as quietly as she could. He didn't know how to register this as he did not expect Iori to do this.

He tried to go to sleep but he felt Iori move closer to him. Y/n opened to see how close she really was to him. His eyes widen when he saw Iori's face very close to his. Y/n immediately become nervous at how close she was to him. It didn't help that she also wore an almost see through night gown. Y/n didn't know what to do in this situation as he never had this problem before. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep.

Elsewhere:

Jackal had been informed of Rin's demise from one of his spies. Although both Rin and the dark beasts were killed he expected it. This new threat was something he needed eliminated quickly. But the news of the two individuals with their target peaked his interest. He knew them through reputation and was surprised that they were involved.

Zin: Sir what should we do now?

Jackal: Nothing, for now at least. We'll have our spy keep an eye on them and inform us of their actions.

Zin: But they know of us sir. Rin told them it was you who sent him.

Jackal: I know, which is why while they are looking for us it will give us time to plan out our next move.

Zin: Sir, what could we possibly do against these hunters. The dark beasts and the Juujin were defeated, what else could we throw at them?

Jackal began to think of something but as of recent events he didn't know what would stand against these hunters. He then thought back to any possible allies who were skilled in dealing with hunters. As he was thinking of any ally one came to mind. A powerful person who owed him a favor.

Time skip:

The next morning Y/n awoke to see Iori wasn't in his bed. Today was Saturday and he had an interview for a job he applied for. He felt excited for if he got the job he would be able to get a new house. But first he had to deal with the interview for the job.

As he got out of bed he saw a set of cloths neatly placed on a nearby chair. They were his usual clothes that had been washed. As he began to get dress he thought back to last night's events. Kirika and Amaria had told him that they would look in to find Jackal and what to expect from him. Y/n only hoped to find him soon so that he can final put everything that happened to rest.

As he was finishing getting dressed the door opened. He looked to see Iori was check up on him.

Iori: Oh, your finally awake.
