Today was the day.
The final game.
Just to think I was a catcher from Wisconsin a couple weeks ago. Now I'm a goalie for Team USA. I have an amazing boyfriend, tons of new friends, and just an amazing team.
Like usual Julie was braiding my hair into two dutch braids when my mom texted me.
Mom<3
Me and your dad just landed at LAX! We're going to check into our hotel and meet up with Dylan and Sierra. We want to try and meet your new boyfriend and friends before the game! If we don't see you before the game me and your father love you!Catch Catch 🏒🥎
i love you guys too, i'll see you tonight!I was finally going to see my parents, my parents were going to meet Guy, and hopefully like him as much as I do.
"Okay, all done!" Julie patted my shoulders, "Can you braid mine?"
"Of course." I responded. We switched spots and I started parting her hair. As I did Connie came into the room. In her hands she held three coffees, her phone, her charger, and water bottle. They were shaking from holding that much stuff.
Julie ran up to help her. She grabbed the coffees and the water bottle. While handing me the drink carrier Connie plopped down onto her bed. Her jacket crinkled as she fell back first. We were all trying to match today. Black shorts, white USA shirt, Nike socks, and braids.
"I feel like it's our first game again. I'm nervous as hell." She said. She sat up and started tapping her foot a million miles an hour.
"Don't worry you'll do great. I promise." I reassured her.
Julie sat back down with one hair tie, "She's right. But I'm worried that my parents won't like Dean. He's so different from my family. I mean my family was even scared when I said I wanted to join hockey when I was 5."
I didn't want them to worry at all today. If we wanted to do good we had to be on our A game.
"They'll love him, and if they don't Fulton might have to use his slap shot." I laughed.
A smile broke out from her face and she giggled.
"What I can't believe is that the games are almost over." Connie reminded us, I forgot that this hasn't always happened, "Like what's going to all the couples. Luis is from Florida. That's across the country."
I remembered that I wanted them to be happy and calm today. I couldn't forget that Guy lived in a different state though. Yeah, we were the closest couple out of all them but was it close enough?
I brushed all those thoughts aside. I had too.
"Well let's ignore that, why don't we go see the boys. Maybe they want to hang out with the best girlfriends in the world!" I said trying to change the subject.
They immediately agreed, and I finished tying up Julie's braid. I grabbed my Team USA zip up, slipped on my Vans and ran to the elevator.
When we got to the elevator it was already opened, we stepped in and went down to their usual floor. We leisurely strolled to their room. Once we got their Connie knocked on the door very fancily. For what reason, I don't know but me and Julie bursted out laughing.
