The sound of my heels and Jeans dress shoes clacking against the white and gold marble floors of the museum brought a euphoric type of feeling.
For Jean's 21st birthday I decided to spoil him with possibly the best gift imaginable.
"Why are we speeding through?" Jean exclaimed.
"We're not! We can always come back, I don't wanna miss the digital room!" I replied linking our hands together with rings kissing each other.
"How can we miss a room, it's always there."
"Just come onnn."
After walking through the long and large hallways of the most amazing museum I've ever been to, seeing all types of art and discovering new artists, taking who knows how many mirror pictures together, and stopping to text back the group chat who was going to sleep while we were out and about asking for pictures of what we're doing today, so they wouldn't feel out of the loop when we arrived back to Atlanta at the end of spring break.
We finally arrived in the digital room. Three more pairs and a couple of singles were waiting for the exhibit to begin. Jean and I found a perfect spot not too close, nor too far away from the wall. Behind us was a bench for us to sit on but we chose to stand for the moment.
While Jean was distracted with something, I looked around the room for a particular person. Or should I say, people?
Once I found who I was looking for, I signaled them with a wink and nod of my head. My two good friends Alex and Atlas silently cheered, while throwing a thumbs up and relaying the message to the employee who controlled this exhibit.
"I think it's about to start!" I nudged Jean.
"See I told you we were going to miss it."
The room became dark-- basically, only my teeth and eyeballs are visible at this point, c'mon now.-- and then the room was filled with a gorgeous painting of a girl smiling, displayed throughout the room.
"Wow, this ones is incredible. Kinda looks like- WAIT!" Jean exclaimed stepping forward studying the artwork then whipping his head to me with a bright smile displayed on my face.
"This is my art!?" Jean shouted gaining attention from the bystanders.
"Happy Birthday!" I cheered.
"No fucking way. No. Fucking. Way."
"Yes, fucking way. Look!" I motioned to the wall which flipped to the painting of his mother than to his piece of flow hands he loved.
"This is unreal. How the- What!? I can't even wrap my head around this. My art is in the Louvre. The most famous museum ever. You did this- how?"
Before I could even answer he threw his arms around me laying a heavy kiss on my forehead.
"I take it you like it?" I joked smiling into his neck.
"Are you kidding? This is the most amazing gift ever! You literally made my dreams come true. Twice now. First was meeting you then this!? I'm at a loss of words right now Y/n."
"How about "Thank you." I teased him, pulling away from the hug to look into his eyes.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you so much Y/n. So fucking much."
"I love you too Jean. Now let's finish watching."
We sat on the cushioned bench, arms linked with one another while enjoying the remainder of the exhibit, with the best feeling of happiness and love between us.
A/N: AHHHH. WE DID IT. Thank you guys so so so much for reading my story. I'm blessed that yall take the time to read this and enjoyed it as much as I did writing it. I love every one of you, and the ones who helped me when I was stuck. Thanks so much, stinkas!
