"It's okay" he whispered  in my ear. "What's wrong?"

I sobbed into the pillow. "Babe, please answer me" he pleaded. I brought my head up to look at him.

"He left." I buried my head in his chest.

"Who?"

"My father. He left to be with Mrs. Todd."

"Mrs. Todd our math teacher?" He looked confused. I nodded sadly and he was shocked. He kissed the top of my head and looked at me with a serious expression. "Listen, Lexi, I don't think we should really see each other until all this dies down at school..." He looked at me and got up to leave.

"But-" he had already gone.

I soon realized I was crying from the thought. I still miss Gray. He was my first love. My father ruined that. I can see that he wasn't the right guy. If he leaves in a hard time. That's not okay, and I hope Shay never falls for someone like Gray.

My mother looked over at me, "what are we gonna tell Shay?"

"We're not telling her anything."

"Lex, hun,  we have to tell her something."

"No. She still hopes dad will come back. I don't want her around him. Shay will not know about the letter." I looked her straight in the eye.

"Okay" my mother sighed. I looked back at the letter and read it for the hundredth time.

Hello girls!

I hope you guys know I love you, even your mother. I miss all of you. I want to see you. Brittany and I are still together. We were hoping the girls would be part of the wedding coming up. Your mother is welcome too! Please call me. I really do love you three. I want to know how you are doing. Well, I don't know if you're mad or upset with me but it would be understandable. I hope you're willing to let me be a part in your lives. I love you girls

Then he left all his contact information. I snatched up the letter and ran to my room. I quickly found a place to hide it where Shay couldn't find it, with the concert tickets.

Later that day, Shay, my mother, and I were sitting on the couch watching a movie.

"Mom?" Shay asked.

"Yes dear?"

"Why can't I go to the concert?"

I looked at my mom and she looked at me. "I- uh" she stuttered.

"Shay? Concert tickets cost a lot of money, we just can't afford it right now."

She looked down. "Okay..." She sighed. I felt bad for disappointing her. I hate seeing her sad.

"One day"

"Yea. Okay." She got up and started up the stairs.

"Shay-" my mother was cut off

"Save it." Shay hissed.

My mother looked at me. "When can we tell her?" She pleaded.

"I'll tell her soon, I promise." I sighed and got up. "I love you"

"I love you too sweetie" my mom blew me a kiss.

The next morning I woke up after my sister had gone to school and my mom had gone to work. I headed down to the kitchen and got myself a pop tart. As I sat down on the couch with my delicious artificially flavored pastry I turned on some Coldplay. Now, I shall relax.
