Merula called Lana to the training grounds to talk, which Lana gladly obliged to. She wanted to know what was going on with the Slytherin girl.

"Glad you could make it, Riviera." Merula said, a smug look on her face, "Now you fan ask me your questions in person. You know, instead of trying to to get information from other people...like it seems you've been doing ever since we got back."

"Well, you've been a bit hard to find, Merula." Lana said shortly.

"Careful, Riviera, or I'll start to think you actually missed me." Merula laughed, "Anyway, I'm here now."

"Alright...why don't you tell me about your summer then?" the brunette asked, seeing if she could get any new information.

"That's what you want to know about? How mundane!" Merula scoffed, laughing obnoxiously, "Well, if that's what you wanna know, then I guess I'll tell you what I got up to."

Merula didn't say anything of much interest, only that she was busy researching and training over the summer. Lana got tired of pushing for answers she wouldn't get, so she decided to call it quits for the time being.

"So as you can see, my summer was really quite...average." Merula concluded.

"You really just studied and trained the whole time?" Lana asked sceptically.

"Summer seems to have made you quite sceptical, Riviera."

"It's just...you seem in a better mood than usual." Lana observed.

"I suppose you're right." Merula agreed, "I feel...better these day. Rakepick is suffering for her crimes. My revenge is complete. Now I can focus on something much more important..."

"And what would that be?" Lana asked, folding her arms over her chest.

"Continuing to prove that I'm the most powerful witch at Hogwarts, by becoming even more powerful." Merula grinned.

"Well, I suppose some things never change." Lana commented, rolling her eyes.

"Facts never change, Riviera. I'll always strive to be more powerful. I think it's only fair if you answer one of my questions, seeing as I've answered yours." Merula said.

"Go on, then."

"Why are you suddenly so curious about how I spent my time over the summer?"

Lana paused for a second, trying to think of an appropriate answer. "I think your behaviour's been a bit...strange. And not just since summer started."

"Has it? I didn't notice." Merula said innocently, "Tell you what...since you're so interested in what I've been up to this summer, why don't I show you. We'll have a friendly duel."

"When has any duel between us ever been friendly?"

"Like I said, I feel different. So this one will be, I promise." Merula said, and Lana could've sworn she saw a glint of mischief in her eye. The girls took their positions in front of each other, and a small crowd began to form.

"Are you ready?" Lana asked whipping out her wand, but seeing Merula hadn't yet.

"Don't I look ready?" Merula asked, shrugging her shoulders.

"I've got my wand, and you—"

"Worry about yourself, Riviera." the Slytherin smirked.

"Ok, then show me what you were doing over summer."

"With pleasure." Merula said, and stuck her hand out. 'Flipendo!'

Lana was knocked to the floor, groaning in discomfort as she got back up on her feet.
