After convincing Madame Rosmerta to let them use her tavern fireplace, the girls got ready to travel to the Ministry. However, Lana was stopped by Mad-Eye Moody, who warned her that there could be agents at the Ministry from 'R' and that she should watch herself. She agreed, and he let her go on.

The second she arrived in the Ministry of Magic, she was blown away. Her brown orbs travelled around the large room  she'd found herself in, admiring the many windows, fireplaces, and people there were at the Ministry.

'I can't believe I'm actually at the Ministry of Magic!' she thought to herself, 'Now, which way to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement...?' she wondered as she began walking.

"Halt." a stern, deep voice ordered. Lana looked up to see a bored-looking man dressed in royal blue robes stood in front of her.

"Oh, uh—"

"Stay still." he ordered, and pulled out a stick-looking object. He waved it around her as if he was scanning her, and she just looked around awkwardly.

"Is that a probity probe?" she asked him, "I think Mr Filch has one of those..."

"Fascinating. Wand." he said simply, holding out his hand.

"What about it?"

"Give it here." he ordered, so she complied.

"12 inches, laurel, phoenix-feather core, been in use two years...correct?" the man asked, examining her wand.

"Yes, that's right." Lana answered.

"Credentials?"

"Oh, I don't have any. I think Professor Dumbledore said I'd pick them up here..." the girl said anxiously.

"No credentials means no further entry into the Ministry." the man told her.

"But—"

"You'll have to leave. Now."

"Wait! Let me explain - I promise I'm here for a reason." Lana pleaded, and the man let her explain.

"All Hogwarts students have been collected for their assignments. And they have the proper badges because they were on time."

"But Professor Dumbledore sent me to work in Magical Law Enforcement! I'm just...a little late." Lana said, becoming increasingly more sad.

"And I'm the Queen of England." the man said sarcastically, "You need to leave. Now."

Lana sighed sadly and began to turn back, when a familiar voice called her name.

"Lana? Is that you?" Bill asked her, and her heart lifted in her chest.

"Lana! Good to see you again!" Arthur Weasley smiled.

"Bill! Mr Weasley! Thank goodness you're here." she cried.

"Is Mr Munch here giving you trouble?" Arthur queried.

"To be fair...I don't have any credentials." Lana admitted.

"No credentials, no entry." 'Mr Munch' said again.

"Ah, I see! Well, I can vouch for Lana's credibility, Mr Munch." Arthur said to the man.

"So can I." Bill added.

"Goes against protocol. No credentials, no entry."

"I suppose you're right...of course, you'll have to fill out the paperwork for someone arriving with no credentials..." Arthur said.

"Paperwork...never mind, vouching for one's credibility will do." Mr Munch sighed, "Proceed to the All Purpose Room." he said glumly, and walked away.

"Is he always so..."
