Chapter 10.3--Natasha

"Welcome to the New York sanctum," Dr. Strange said to Steve.

"Thank you." Steve put an arm around my shoulders. "I'm really glad I could come out here."

"I'm happy to have you." Strange turned to me. "Are Wanda and Emery joining?"

I shook my head. "We dropped them off at their hotel, but they are gonna meet us for dinner later. Do you need anything from us right now?"

"No, we're good for today. You and Steve enjoy your time together," he replied.

Steve turned to me. "I'm gonna freshen up and change into clean clothes. I smell like the airplane."

I laughed. "I'll be up in a few minutes. Up the stairs, second door on the left." I kissed him before letting him go.

"You know, I could always transport him by portal next time he wants to visit," Strange suggested.

I laughed. "I'm not sure how he'd be able to handle that. With the plane, he's fine. As long as he's not the one flying it."

"It would save money," he said.

I considered this. "That's true."

"Speaking of...have you told him?" he asked me.

"Not yet. I haven't found the right moment."

Strange raised his eyebrows. "Natasha...You know what Jemma said. I think it's important—"

"I will tell him. It's just not the time," I said.

He nodded. "If that's what you think is best. I'll let you go help him get settled in."

I headed upstairs to my room. Steve had opened the suitcase on the floor next to the bed. I could hear the shower running in the bathroom and I smiled. I couldn't believe he was here.

Something caught my attention in the top of Steve's suitcase. I reached down and took it out. It was the book that Thor had given us. I sat back on my bed and flipped through the pages that had been bookmarked.

Dynamokinesis: manipulation of existing energy

Atmokinesis: control of all the elements to manipulate the weather

These are rare powers that need to learn to be controlled. Overextension of the body can be detrimental to the system. Use with caution.

Cosmosis: the ability to travel between worlds in the cosmos

This is different from the use of the bifrost to travel between the nine realms. Cosmosis can be difficult to control and may result in the creation of dynamokinesis if the bearer has malicious intent.

Steve had scribbled a note next to this description:

Kristina = cosmosis. Created Nat's powers purposely? Need to discuss with Katya to see if she knows anything

"Find anything interesting?" Steve's voice made me jump as he appeared in the room wearing only a towel around his waist.

I tried to pry my eyes away from staring at his body, still wet with steam from the shower, but I couldn't help it. We'd been doing long distance for two months.

"Well I certainly see something I like right now," I said, walking over to him.

He stood in front of me, interlocking our fingers. His breath was hot on my cheek as he leaned forward. I caught his lips with mine and tugged slightly.
