Jaydee's POV (Flashback)

"Thanks", the pale woman said.

"Next in line." shouted by the lady in th counter.

One of my absolute favorite moments.

"You forgot your permit."  I shouted while I'm trying to catch up with her.

"Yeah. Well, I just sort of
come here to enjoy the two-hour line." She stated in frustration but still able to maintain her sweet smile. We stared at each other and just laugh a little.

The permit's sort of a bonus.

"The Art Institute." I read out loud hoping to change the awkward situation.

"You work there?" I ask out of curiosity and also hoping to get more infos about her.

"No, I'm a student." She said unfazed.

"I'm Frances." She said as if feeling the need to change the topic. Well it's quite awkward I must say. I'm really not a people person. I look at her agaid and I can feel I'm drowning in her bright smile.

"I'm sorry. I'm Jaydee. " I said looking liked I just snapped out of something.

"Well, thank you for this, Jaydee." She said while still wearing that contagious smile.

"You know what, I noticed,
in a totally non-threatening way,

we have the same RPP zone." I said completely sounding weird and nervous. Gosh, I almost stutter. I can't believe I'll be a messed in front of a woman.

"Is that right?"  She teased sounding with a bit of amusement.

"Yup." I replied timidly.

"You have impressive powers of observation." She told me as she continue to tease me.

" Yes."  I replied shortly as I'm currenty feeling anxious.

"What's an RPP zone?" She curiously asked out of a sudden.

"Residential permit parking zone." I replied hinting a bit proud.

"That sounds intimate."

She's teasing me again.

"Yeah."

"Okay."

At least we agreed on something

"What I was thinking is that...

I think we owe it to ourselves, really,
to maybe get a drink,

out of respect for
our zone compatibility and all." I said disguising my desire to ask her out. Oh Frances your messing too much with my head.

" Okay." She agreed quickly which shock me and me being an anxious person I have this need to ask again.

" Okay?" Repeating her word sounding a bit unsure.

" All right, okay." She said and let out a chuckle. As if she knows that I want confirmation.

"After you." I said being the gentle woman that I am.
