"A second chance to give you something. It takes a lifetime to come from nothing."

Sasuke was sitting on his bed when his phone rang, blaring the tone he'd set as Kakashi's ringtone. He sighed as he looked at the screen as if there would somehow be a different name. "What do you want?" he answered, not caring that it sounded rude. He'd already had a day of avoiding reporters and getting odd stares from his classmates. He thought that by now it would all be old news, but apparently not.

"Hello to you too," Kakashi greeted. "I was calling to see how you're doing. I see the news won't leave you alone." He felt bad for the teen. He knew that all he had wanted was some normalcy and just as he was starting to get it, it was pulled out from under him by his mother showing up. "You know, it's not nice that I have to learn about your boyfriend through seeing him constantly with you on TV," he chuckled.

Sasuke shook his head even though he knew the older man couldn't see him, "Hey Kakashi, guess what, I have a boyfriend."

"No need to be smartass," Kakashi smirked, happy to hear that Sasuke didn't sound too different from his usual self. He thought he'd be much more closed off with everything happening around him. "So I take it you either went to therapy or this guy is really good for you," he told him, knowing that Sasuke wouldn't be handling things this well on his own. The man was strong, but no one was that strong to go through what he's going through by themself.

Sasuke smiled a little as he thought about Naruto before confirming, "He's good for me. Don't tell him that though, it'll just go to his head." Sasuke paused for a moment before letting out a sigh, "I do have a therapy appointment though."

"Wow, he is good for you," Kakashi smirked. No matter how much he needed it, getting Sasuke to go to therapy was like pulling teeth.

"Yeah well, I don't know how it'll go. I'm going to someone new," he told him. He had been annoyed when he called his therapist's office to find out that he had been on leave due to injury and his partner was handling his appointments. "If it weren't for all of this shit I'd just wait for him to get better," he told him.

"If it weren't for all this shit you wouldn't be going at all," Kakashi corrected. "Don't even try to deny it."

"I wasn't going to," Sasuke knew it was true. He also wouldn't be going if it weren't for Suigetsu and Naruto's constant suggestion that it'd be a good idea. They weren't forcing him to go, but they were not very subtle in the fact that they thought he needed to talk to someone, preferably a professional.

"I'm assuming you've talked to Itachi recently," Kakashi said. "Has he decided to appeal his conviction yet?" he asked.

"I'm talking to our lawyer today," Sasuke told him. "I'm not really giving him much of a choice in the matter. If he tries to fight me there will be issues," he hoped that Itachi would just agree. Given the new evidence no Judge could really deny him at least a new trial. "Really he should be released just based on my mother coming forward. They just need to admit they got the wrong guy."

"I agree," Kakashi frowned at the fact that the older Uchiha was still in prison. "But if they released everyone just for a new person confessing then they'd probably have a lot more false confessions. You know there's a process."

"Doesn't make me feel any better about it," he sighed. "Do you want to come with me to talk to the lawyer today? I'm sure Oki won't mind," he asked. He knew he might feel a little better with the older man there, even if he didn't want to admit it.

Kakashi smiled, "Do you want me to?"

Sasuke tried to act nonchalant when he said, "Well, it's not like anything we talk about will be privileged information. He's not my attorney on this matter."
