Toshiko Wani is an aspiring Pro Hero and rapper, and is training at U.A. High School. She is one of Kumori's only friends (and vice versa, even though she doesn't want to admit it).
Personality:
Toshiko is an upbeat girl who does whatever she could to try and appear tough, despite the fact that she has tons of fears in her way. She often hides those fears, because she's afraid of being seen as "weak", and not the "badass" girl she wants to be like her favorite Pro Heroes and rappers.
When Toshiko was a little girl, she was just like Kumori. She was shy and quiet, and she was often picked on for her "weird" way of socializing with others. However, when she discovered hip hop music, she felt like it was the coolest thing in the world, but since then, she wasn't being her actual self, and is instead trying too hard to be like her favorite rappers as a result.
Toshiko is a good sport, unless you insult her in a way that's personal to her. After she lost to Kumori in the Year 1 U.A. Sports Festival, she asked her to go out to lunch with her sometime and "hang", in which Kumori accepted.
Whenever Toshiko isn't training hard to become a Pro Hero, she's making "beats", rapping over them, and posting her music on SoundCloud, under the name T-Terror.
Toshiko often annoys her classmates with her "wannabe rapper" antics, but she doesn't know how to be cool any other way, especially because she doesn't think of her real self as cool due to the bullying she received when she was younger. She feels like she can't be her true self around anyone, not even Kumori.
Quirk:
Gator - This causes Toshiko to have the abilities of an alligator.
These are the abilities that her Quirk gives her:
Rapid Swim - Toshiko can swim at an incredibly fast rate, and is the fastest swimmer in her entire class (and possibly all of U.A., if not Triton).
Sharp Bite - Toshiko's teeth are incredibly sharp, therefore her bites can definitely leave a mark.
Tail Beater - Toshiko has a massive alligator tail that can leave a powerful slap on someone. This move is even more powerful if the opponent attacks her from behind.
Night Vision - Toshiko has great night vision due to her Quirk. She can walk around at night without a flashlight, and can see in pure darkness. This can be great for rescue missions in the dark.
Fun Facts:
- Toshiko wanted her "rapper name", T-Terror, to be her hero name as well, but the name has been declined, due to it sounding like a "juvenile villain name". This caused Toshiko to come up with Gatorina as her hero name, because it was the "next most badass thing she could think of".
- Because of Toshiko's Quirk, she's carnivorous and only eats meat.
- Her favorite food is soft shell crab.
- She likes to dip Oreos in salsa, which often disgusts people around her.
- Her favorite drink is Mountain Dew.
- Despite her having a mutant Quirk that gives her alligator abilities, her surname, Wani, translates to "crocodile" in Japanese.
- Toshiko would love to do street art sometime. It fills her with joy when she gets to look at graffiti.
- Her favorite rhythm game is PaRappa the Rapper.
- Toshiko was given an edgy/street style appearance, as a blend of her Quirk and her passion for hip hop.
- Her favorite color is pine green.
- She's a huge fan of hip hop groups such as Brockhampton, Outkast, and Run the Jewels.
- Her favorite songs are Down by Run the Jewels, Ms. Jackson by Outkast, and BOOGIE by Brockhampton.
- Her favorite Pro Heroes are Present Mic, Gang Orca, and Rock Lock.
- Her favorite TV show is Wild'N Out.
- At first, I didn't know what to do with Toshiko, but then I started joking with @orionftm2020 about her being a SoundCloud rapper. Now it's not a joke anymore.
- She was in Class 1-A in the year prior to the events of Silver Linings.
- Her Quirk and her style are based off of the Pokémon Krookodile.
