Unexpected Gift

Planning ahead

We are watching Netflix when my phone busses.
Dre is pushing me to set the date for Posty fest.

A: Hey, do you get a fall break?
C: I have a week October 11-18 I look at my calendar and set it for October 9-10
A: How would you feel about coming to Texas on 10/8 after work?
C: Are you sure you want to plan ahead so far you might want to get rid of me before then.

She smiled at me

A: Is that a no?
C: I have to see what my family has planned. They usually take me out for my Bday around that time.
A: They can come too. When is your B-day?
C:10/23. Unless you get Bob Seeger, my dad isn't coming.
She laughs..
Yes this is perfect. I think to myself.
A: I set my festival for 10/8 and I figured after that we could do whatever you want, but now I know it is your birthday and it is mandatory for you. I expect to see you and I am keeping you that week too.

She laughs
A: I am not joking.
She is laughing harder now, rolling her eyes.
A: What am I going to do with you?
C: I will see what I can do.

It's already time for her to leave.
C:I really don't want to leave. What do you have planned for next week?
A: I was planning on writing. I can do that anywhere.
C: Come stay with me. I wish I could stay with you, but I can't leave my students.
I know that you have a job too and I will understand if you say no. I had something made for you before I left Friday. It is a key to my house. You are welcome to come and go as you please.
A: You want me to stay with you.
C: Yes, anytime you would like it is an open invitation.
A: I will stay next week with you, but I need to go to LA next weekend for a show.
She started to breathe heavily like she was holding her breath.
A: Are you ok? Did I say/do something wrong?
C: Yes I'm ok. No. I was just so nervous about asking you. I know it sounds crazy, but I was and I am relieved that you said yes.
I pull her into a hug. I don't want to let this woman go.
After we land I notice that she is still asleep. I gently woke her up. I would usually carry her, but my legs are asleep from the long flight. My driver is waiting for us and my security team has already been to her house to set up stations. As crazy as it sounds I want to make sure she is safe. I have already told Alex to find a bodyguard for her.

It was a perfect week. I would work while she was at work. She cooked most nights and we would play video games. She beat me pretty good twice. On Friday night I knew my plane was leaving the next morning.  I already started becoming upset at the thought of not having her.
A: What are you doing this weekend?
C: I have some papers to grade, but I can do that anywhere she laughed.
A: Come to the concert with me.
C: Ok. I'll pack
