Unexpected Gift

Sunsets

We walk in the house, and she excuses herself to the restroom.  I hope that Pat has the backyard set. It is almost sunset. I want this to be perfect.

Pat was leaving as I walked into the room. He looked at Charlotte strangely and stopped.
A: What is that about?
P: You were in the room and saw what I did. She scares the shit out of me.  She is 5' nothing and beat that guy down.  He was at least 6'.
I look at him with a pissed off tone.
P: He deserved it, but I will never make her mad or go to the Tennessee River with her.  I refuse to eat catfish now too.

I laughed.

When she comes back I tell her that the food is ready and we walk towards the back yard.

C:I don't think Pat likes me.
A: He is afraid of you.  He is also afraid of catfish and rivers now too.

I open the doors.

C: This is beautiful.
Tears start running down her face.
A: Happy or sad?
C: Happy.
A: Good. Let's eat.
She looks at the landscape as she eats. Once we finish I sit two boxes on the table. She looks over surprises but with a scolding cut to her eyes.
I open them.
A: This is a promise ring I want you to wear. I put it on her finger. I promise to love you. I promise that when you are ready I will propose and we will be married, just say the word. Tears start going down her face. It is a diamond ring with a heart around it.
A:This is a necklace that I want you to wear in case anyone doesn't see the ring. I want them to know that you are mine.
She lets me put them on her. I placed 2 more boxes on the table.
A: These are for when I am Post Malone.
The promise ring had a PM with a diamond heart in the middle. The necklace was a short diamond necklace with the words posty written on it with a padlock. The padlock had a heart on it. He showed me his necklace. It was a short diamond chain with a key. With Charlotte in the diamonds on the chain.
C: Thank you. These are amazing. I love them. I know I fight you on stuff, but I don't want you to think I am with you for your money or status.

He laughed.
A: You're the only date that has bought me dinner. I know you aren't in it for money or fame, and that makes me want to spoil you with gifts more. You are crying a lot today. Is there anything you want to talk about?  She hands me her phone. I opened the text message.

Asshole: You can run, but you can't hide beautiful. I have eyes everywhere and you will be mine.
There is a picture of her in the jewelry store.
A: I will be right back.

I text Alex:
A:Hey man, I have a problem that I need for you to handle. If I handle it I am going to get life in prison.
    
Alex opens the door.

Alex: What's up boss?  I handed him the phone. He leaves.

I go back to the table.
Her makeup is smeared and she has been crying.
A: Hey Alex is going to take care of it.
C: Thank you he scares me.
A: Is that why you went off and spoke to him like that?
C: Yes if I am crazier than you you will leave me alone. I hugged her.
A:He won't touch you.
