Phil's POV:

I woke up to the ringing of a phone. I looked around and saw that my phone was going off on the beside table. I also saw the adorable mop of brown hair buried in my chest which I carefully removed so I could get to my phone.

I got out of bed answering the phone as I crept out of the bedroom so as not to wake Dan.

'Hello?'
'Is this Daniel Howell?'
'Uh no, I'm Phil lester, his boyfriend, who's calling?'
'This is the hospital we think we may have some good news for you and Daniel, could you come in for an appointment tomorrow around four o'clock?'
'Good news? What do you mean?'
'We would really like to talk to Daniel also Mr Lester.'
'Oh uh yes of course, we'll be in tomorrow, thank you.'

The doctor hung up and I put my phone down with a confused expression. I went to the kitchen to make some coffee for Dan and I before going back to the bedroom to find him sitting up in bed.

'Morning Dan.' I said and smiled at him, only to realise he couldn't see and dropped my smile, feeling stupid.
'Good morning, is that coffee I smell?'
'Indeed it is.' I said back and sat next to him guiding his hands over and placing his mug in them.
'Who was on the phone?' Dan asked after a sip of coffee. I found his hand and held it tight, him giving me a squeeze back, before answering.
'It was the hospital,' I paused as I heard a sharp intake of breath, 'they want you to come in to see them tomorrow at four.'
'W-why?'
'Dan, don't sound so worried,' I placed a quick kiss on his cheek and continued, 'they said they had some good news for you.'
'What good news?'
'I don't know, they wouldn't say. They want to see you.'
'Oh um okay.' He smiled and I took the coffee mug from his hands and put it onto the bedside table next to where I had placed mine. I then enveloped him into a massive hug and buried my head into his shoulder as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

'How do your eyes feel today love?' I asked, my voice slightly muffled from his night shirt.
'Kind of sore, do you know where my drops are?'
'Yeah, hang on I'll go get them.' I unattached our arms and hopped off the bed, making my way to the bathroom to find the eye drops.

I found them by the mirror and started to walk back when something caught my eye. I turned back towards the mirror and looked down at my arms.

Them scars were still quite prominent and stuck out like a sore thumb. I put the eye drops down by the sink and ran my finger along the many scars on my left arm. I missed it. The sharp but pleasant pain I felt. I missed having a quick way to solve my problems an-

'Did you find them Phil?' Dan shouted from the bedroom cutting off my thoughts.
'Uh yeah, now coming give me a sec.'

I looked down again. Preach I missed it. But I won't go back. Dan needs me, and what kind of boyfriend would I be if I just kept hurting myself because I couldn't handle something, when he needs me. I don't need that. I don't want that. No.

I quickly splashed some cold water on my face before grabbing the drops and walking back to the bedroom and jumping on the bed. Resulting in scaring Dan greatly.

'JESUS CHRIST PHIL!' I laughed and tackled him down on the bed, kissing all over his beautiful face.
'Sorry love, it's just very fun to scare you.' I kissed his nose once more, then found his lips.

Just before it all got too heated he pulled away making me pout.

'Uh Phil, I really need those drops.'
'Oh yeah, sorry.' I grinned and got up off of him, grabbed the drops, then pulled him up by the hands so he was sitting cross legged in front of me.

I took the cap off the small bottle of drops soon after taking Dan's chin with my fingers and tilting up his head. He opened his eyes wide so I could drop the solution into them. He blinked a few times as I put the drops back onto the table, next to the now stone cold coffee mugs.

'Better now?' I asked after kissing his forehead and taking his hands in mine.
'Yes thank you.'
'Dan?'
'Yes love?'
'Can we have a lazy day?'
'Of course.' We both grinned as I pulled him down into my arms and he snuggled into my chest.

//next day\\
Dan's POV:

'Phil come on we're going to be late.' I called out from the couch I was perched on.
'Yeah yeah now coming.' He called from the bathroom.
'Tmi.' I shouted back, hearing a laugh then some footsteps.

I loved his laugh. It was truly one of my favourite sounds in the whole world. One of my favourite sites in the world was his smile. That's one thing I've missed the most since becoming blind. His smile. I miss the feeling I get when I see it.

'You okay?' A sudden whisper in my ear made me jump back a bit into the couch. 'Sorry didn't mean to scare you love, you just looked a bit upset.'
'I was just thinking about your smile.' I whispered back to him. He grabbed my hand and pulled me up and into a hug. I nestled my head into the crook of his neck feeling his arms around my middle.
'Why did that make you sad bear?' He asked quietly next to my ear.
'Because I miss it.' I said, hardly audible now. I heard him sigh and give me a tight squeeze anteriorly rea leasing me from the embrace.
'Come on, as you said, we're gonna be late.' Phil said very quietly. He started to walk and pulled on my hand signalling me to follow. But I stopped him bringing his hand up to my lips.
'I love you.' I said against his hand.
'I love you too you goof, now come on.'

//magical teleportation-ness to the hospital like ten mins later\\

'Daniel Howell?' A woman's voice called out. I stood up and Phil guided me along to the doctors office.

A door opened and I heard a few footsteps before somebody, presumably my doctor, Doctor Watson, shook my hand.

'Hello Daniel, how are you today?'
'Fine thank you Doctor.'
'Fantastic. Right you'll probably be wanting to hear this news I was talking about over the phone to Philip here.' Phil squeezed my hand before I replied.
'Up uh yes please.'
'Please sit, both of you.' I heard the screech of chair legs being pulled out from a table and I was suddenly being gently pushed down into the seat by Phil, who then pulled out a chair and sat beside me, judging np by the matching screech of the chair legs.

'So, as you know, we do not think there is a possibility that we can do anything to help you regain your sight. But we may have another option available to you.'
'What is that?' I heard Phil ask beside me.
'Well, we have recently received a donation.' Phil and I both breathed in sharply as the Doctor went on. 'And it is a perfect match for you Daniel. So if that is what you are up to, we would like to try and operate on your eyes. We will replace them with the doner and, if all goes to plan, you will be able to see again.'
