Audrey trudges along the side of the dirt sideroad, dragging her pack behind her. She didn't care that it was getting mud all over it.

It had been days since she had eaten anything. Audrey's canned food had run out and she was shit at hunting.

There was blood and dirt all over her hands and face, and the grime caked under her fingernails was absurd.

Her throat was so parched from dehydration that she couldn't even yell if she needed to.

Although she felt faint, she forced herself to keep moving. Audrey had learned the hard way that staying in one spot was a horrible idea.

But, despite her ambition to keep going, after a while her knees gave out and she fell onto the wet ground.

Maybe I'll just lay here for a while, She thought, as she lost consciousness.

Audrey came to when she heard a car engine and motorcycle motor coming towards her.

Too weak to look at whoever it was, she kept her eyes shut and continued lying in the dirt.

The engines stop and she heard a gruff mans voice say "Think she's alive?"

She heard a car door slam shut.

"Let me check," Another mans voice said. Audrey

heard footsteps come towards her and felt two fingers press against her jugular.

"She's alive," the voice says, it sounds as if the man is kneeling next to her.

"Should we take 'er back?" The gruff voice asks.

Take me back? Do they have a place? A camp, maybe?

She wiggles her fingers. The softer voice gasps and calls to the other one: "She moved her fingers,"

"Alright then," the gruff voice says and gets closer to her. "Let's take her back, see what Denise can do"

She feels herself being lifted up and carried into a car. The engine starts and the car drives off.

"I don't know if you can hear me, but our doctor will do everything she can, you'll most likely be okay"
Audrey hears the driver say.

She gathers all her strength and puts open one of her eyes.

She's propped up in the passenger seat, and looks over at the driver.

He looks about thirty, short curly hair.

He glances at her. "Oh hi, you're awake," He smiles at her. "I'm Aaron,"

Audrey slightly smiles and tries to speak but fails and she loses consciousness again.

Audrey wakes up being blinded by the lights of the room she's in.

"Jesus fuck," She mutters and holds her hand up to shield her eyes.

She hears shuffling from across the room and glances over to see a girl about her age going through some cabinets of medical supplies.

Audrey clears her throat. The girl whips around, hitting her head on an open cupboard door.

"Shit," She says and rubs her head. The girl walks over to Audrey, setting some things down on a cart next to her.

"How are you feeling?"

Audrey didn't know how to answer that.

She felt better, way better than she did earlier.
"I-I'm Okay," She shifted in the hospital bed she was in.
