Audrey POV

Inside the shopping mall, we spilt into small teams.

The saviours in groups of four or five, and my group has myself, Negan, Dwight and Arat.

We're assigned the south-west wing of the upper floor, where there is a drugstore, a good sized American Eagle and a record store.

We approach the drugstore and Negan speaks, "You two," he points to Arat and Dwight, "go clear out that clothes store, it'll take the longest. Audrey and I will take the other two,"

My chest tightens at the thought of being alone with him.

The two saviours nod and head across the tile hallway.

Negan rests lucille on his shoulder and struts into the drugstore to our left.

I sigh and follow him.

He goes to the far isle on the right side of the store and I choose to head down the left side.

I take one of the bags I was given and throw all the feminine products in sight into it.

Although I wouldn't use them, I'm sure the girls at the sanctuary would appreciate it.

"You're really stocking up, huh?" I hear from behind me.

I turn and see Negan leaning his elbows on top of a shelf, smiling at me.

I scoff. "They're not for me, jackass,"

"You one of those transformers?" He asks sincerely.

I bust out laughing. "I'm assuming you mean transgender, in which case no I'm not,"

"I thought all chicks get a period, and I'm very rarely wrong," He chuckles.

"Look can we drop it? I just don't get it anymore okay?" I bark at him and turn back around so I'm facing the shelves.

Negan was silent for a few minutes. I had the bag in one hand and and the other hand on the shelf. My eyes are squeezed shut as I try and collect myself.

"Something happened, didn't it?" He asks in his low voice.

I've had enough with his prying so I change the subject. I wipe my face and speak.

"Are their any babies at the sanctuary? We could bring all this baby shit back,"
I swiftly walk to the shelf a few feet down from me and pick up a package of diapers.

Negan sniffs and goes along with my subject change, walking to me.

"There are a few toddlers I think. We can never be too careful though, let's take it,"

I nod and shove baby powder, formula, diapers and all that shit into my bag.

Once done in the drugstore we head across the mall to the record store.

"There's nothin we could use in here, let's go help em out in that American Eagle next door," Negan says as I half walk half skip towards the vinyl section.

I don't answer him and start flipping through all the records, studying each one of them.

I hear him sigh and follow me into the shop.

Negan POV

I walk into the isle where Audrey is standing, flipping through the 'N' section on the shelf.

I lean against a stand of magazines and watch her excitedly go through each piece of music, examining the covers and looking through the tracklists.

Eventually Audrey gets to the .45 section of the 'N' shelf.

(If you don't know, a .45 is like a smaller record that has only one song on each side, mostly used for singles <3)

She suddenly gasps and quietly squeals as she pulls out a small record.

"What are you giggling about?" I inquire and walk up behind her.

Audrey shoves the record in my face.

"Ricky Nelson" I read aloud off the front cover.

She brings the record back to her and scoffs. "Not just Ricky Nelson, Lonesome Town,"

"What about it?" I ask.

"I think it's the greatest song of all time," Audrey mumbles while tracing her fingers over the cover.

Audrey POV

My intimate moment with the record was interrupted by guns shots from American Eagle, next door.

Negan suddenly pulls me to the ground and covers my head with his hands, shielding me from any stray bullets.

After the shots become more sparse, he helps me up and i dust the grime from my hands onto my pants.

"Are you alright, sweet cheeks?" He says and puts a hand on my shoulder.

I look from his face to his shoulder and back to his face. He quickly takes his hand away and whispers a "sorry".

"Yeah, I'm fine," I shrug and look around the ground for the record I dropped.

I see the sleeve half under the shelf and pick it up. Inside the Lonesome Town disc had been broken in pieces from the fall.

"Shit, I'm so fucking sorry, I can fix it," Negan takes the broken record from my hands and tries to put the pieces into a whole again.

I'm heartbroken but used to being disappointed so I'm not surprised.
"It's fine," I say and brush past him and head towards the exit of the store.
