Chapter 18

Bertholdt's POV:

Finally! School has ended. I was pretty zoned out when I was in my last class because of earlier.

Reiner asked me to go to the movie with him! Of course I said yes! I don't know if it was a date or what but, I just said yes because I love being around him.

I walked out from my class and went to my lockers and saw Jean and Marco there. "Hey guys!"

"Hey Bert!"

"Sup! So, Bert, you have plan for today right?" Jean asked me.
How did he knows?

"How did you know?" I asked him and he laugh as return. "What kind of plan? You didn't tell me" Marco said.
How should I tell them? Uh, shit, tell them the truth?

"Uh, so, um, Reiner asked me to go to the movie with him?" I said as I rubbed the back of my neck. "Wait, for real?" Marco asked excitedly. "Well, I-i guess? I don't know if it was a kind of date?" I said.

As soon as I said that, they looked at each other with a cheeky smirk. "Well, me and Jean also have plan today so, yeah" Marco said, smiling brightly and I nodded. After that, we said our 'goodbyes'.

I walked out from my school and went to my house. Like always, my parents were not at home. After I made it to my room, my phone suddenly rang.

I looked at the collar ID, It was my mom.
Why is she calling me?

Mom: Hi honey!

Bertholdt: Hey mom! Why are you calling me?

Mom: I can't call my own son? You're making me upset.

Bertholdt: Mom, I didn't mean it like that! Well, I just asked because, you were always busy and I was scared to call you.

Mom: Yes, we were busy but now, we are free because our work is done! But, we will come back tomorrow! Don't know when.

Bertholdt: Really?! Yes! Finally! You're done!

Mom: I'm glad you miss us. But don't worry, we will come back soon. We just need one more night to rest.

Bertholdt: Sure mom. You also need to rest since you know, you were working all months.

Mom: Well, we are so, so, so, sorry because each months we need to leave you alone.

Bertholdt: No, mom. It's okay! Marco and Jean always here with me.

Mom: Good to know. Well, just told them they can come to our house tomorrow to eat dinner with us.

Bertholdt: Alright.

Mom: Are you busy now?

Bertholdt: Well, no but, at 8 I got a plan?

Mom: A DATE?!

Bertholdt: N-no! My friend asked me if I want to go to the movie with him.

Mom: Bertholdt...

Bertholdt: A-are you mad if I go out with a boy..?

Mom: Why would I be mad! I'm happy! Oh, by the way, asked him to come over, too, tomorrow! I would love to meet your boyfriend!

Bertholdt: Mom! He's just my friend!

Mom: Yeah, yeah, whatever. Now, go do something since you have few more hours left. Like, homeworks, get ready and make sure to wear a good outfit.
