Breaking The Loop

Chapter Four

     I watch the Bully draw with the chalk. I grimace as my stomach screams at me to stop. Give up. But I ignore it, I need to save Mono. "HEY, YOU!" I scream at the Bully. They look up and run towards me. They suddenly get yanked back by the noise around their neck and their dunce hat flies off. I run past them and make it out of their reach as the chase after me. They get yanked back again and I run over to the pipe picking it up and slamming it down on the Bully's head as they try to jump on me.

     The fall to the ground lifeless and I put down the pipe as I look at what they drew. I never really could appreciate it on screen, but in person I can see ever detail. I look at all the eyes they drew, the handprints they made, they even drew the Signal Tower. But one drawing catches my attention. "I can't believe it." I mutter. I'm looking at a drawing of the Thin Man. His face is just blocked out with chalk but I see the signature fedora hat.

     Suddenly this room got really creepy. As I walk over to grab the pipe to break the door I see a drawing of a tv with an eye in it. "That's it this place is creepy." I grab the pipe and go over to the door busting it apart wanting to get out of here quickly. On the third hit though my stomach blossoms with pain as I make my injury worse. I drop the pipe to the ground and fall down clutching my stomach. "Ow... that hurts like hell." I mutter. After the pain subsides I slowly stand up and walk through the broken door into a room with a few shelves full of dunce caps.

     Suddenly I hear the sound of the Teacher punishing a student echo through the vent above me. I slowly climb up the cupboard in front of me and start crawling through the vent. I climb up a small elevated part and groan softly as my stomach screams at me. I feel as if I'm ripping myself apart.

     I continue forward hoping to get this area over with. I crawl through the opening and fall down onto some boards knocking two jars off. I quickly get up and run across a beam as the Teacher shrieks. I slide into the box and watch as her ugly head comes up to inspect what caused the jars to fall.

     When she's done looking after finding nothing she retracts her neck and goes back to punishing her student. I crawl out of my box and walk across a beam, turn and start walking across another beam. Halfway across I pick up a jar and remember something I did in the game that was really fun. Before I can rethink it I toss the jar over the side of my small platform, quickly climb up the handkerchiefs tied together and sit on the beam laughing inside.

     The Teacher gets confused. She stands up and walks around for some reason and then goes back to punishing her student. I find it hilarious that you can confuse her. I walk across the beam, and then walk across another beam before coming to the board I have to knock over. I remember that you can run across the beam as it falls and crawl inside the vent before the Teacher reaches you. I push the board and as it starts to fall I run across it and crawl into the vent as the Teacher shrieks.

     I crawl forward and fall down onto some clothes. I would us these for bandages if they weren't so dirty. I crawl forward and climb up a ladder. I reach the small area before the chase sence through the Library.

     I really wish I had something to cover my cut in my stomach. I hop down onto a bookshelf and look at the Library. It's beautiful. All these books. I hope down onto a stack of books, then the bookshelf they're on, and then finally, the floor. I walk over to a ladder and remember there's a hat in the library. It's a bucket with two holes in it but hey, free hat. I roll the ladder to the shelf the hat should be on and climb up it. To my surprise and delight the hat is there. I smile as I put it on.

     To my surprise it fits perfectly. It doesn't shift or anything. I climb down the ladder with my new hat on and move the ladder to the area where I'll run from the Teacher. I climb up the ladder and jump down onto the shelf. I start running and some books fall as I pass them, the Teacher shrieks and I jump a gap, I pull myself up onto a higher shelf as the Teacher face slams into the shelf right where I was. I run between two books and hide behind books.
