Dust

The fresh spring air surrounds me as I drag my bag up some stairs to an old dusty dorm. A keyring is loosely dangling from my finger as I glance at the paper with a room number written on it. Most of the boys had dorms on the first floor of the building, leaving me to a small cluster of rooms that used to be used for the sports Journalism program.

I look around and immediately notice the dust. These dorms haven't been touched in a while, but the dust leading to the room I was to occupy had been disturbed quite a bit. Looks like they worked to give me the furniture that had been removed long ago.

That's how most of the facilities for the SJ program are here. The old office has been turned into storage, and the road to the old computer lab is overgrown and unkempt. The old bath that the SJ program uses requires some elbow grease, but it's nothing I can't learn how to fix from a youtube video. My facilities pale in comparison to the great Seido Baseball teams'.

The SJ program has its own separate facilities for a lot of things, but it seems that the separate kitchen is no longer around, which is fine. I understand why they would tear that down. I'm relieved they kept the old bathhouse, and the water has been turned on for me. No awkward early morning baths.

I unlock the dorm and open the door, immediately I'm hit with a wall of dusty air. I cough before waving a hand in front of my face in an attempt not to inhale copious amounts of dust. The room is dark, but it's clear that someone was going to make an attempt to clean it, but left the broom, mop, and bucket here for me. I sigh, but this is what I expected. I didn't think I would even have a bucket and mop in here. I'm slightly irritated though that someone started cleaning, but didn't finish.

I place my bags in the room before rolling up my sleeves and starting on the cleaning. Looks like I'm not going to be able to talk to the boys for today, as I'm gonna be fixing up my base of operations.
