Winter's laugh filled the air around them as they cleaned after dinner. Emerson washed them as Winter put them away in the cupboard.

Emerson excused himself and he made his way to his library. He was to review his extensive research of the sky and universe that held one of the earthly angels.

With the small theological information that he retained from his university days, he knew that the angel living with him was truly from the heavens above they talked about so graciously.

Winter showered and brushed her wet hair behind her ears as she dressed in soft linen pajamas.

She knocked softly before walking into his study. The sight of him in a black suit shirt that was unbuttoned slightly, made her nervous.

"Come here sweetheart." Emerson's voice said smoothly as he watched Winter walk in. Winter's eyes scanned the study, taking in the objects and books that were scattered around him.

He looked so studious, she thought.

Shyly, she sat down on his lap. His large hands wrapped around her small waist as she leaned over to look at the different things he was studying.

"Astronomy?" She mumbled in question, turning back around to face him. He pushed her wet hair out of her pretty face. Winter shivered.

"I find its vastness extremely frustrating, yet it gives me hope that there is always more." He started. "Astronomy, that is." He finished his statement. His hand was involuntarily rubbing the smooth skin on her lower back.

She gulped.

"You mind is incredibly beautiful." Her soft voice came out in a whisper like tone. She hadn't even meant to say that out loud.

Emerson forgot to breathe for a second. How could someone be so inclined to kindness.

Hopping off of his lap, his hand slide off her waist, as she moved. He also move further back on his chair and spread his legs slightly apart. Winter would be lying if she said the sight of him like that wasn't erotic.

"I was homeschooled, I didn't get much more education than that, I love science and the maths. Though I never got to live out the life filled of extraneous education." She rambled on.

Emerson knew she had a bright mind, if she wanted to know anything else, he'd lend her any book.

"Sorry I rambled." She continued.

"Don't. You haven't done anything wrong, and if you are still interested in learning a more in depth sense of science and mathematics there is a whole section of novels and novelettes." Emerson quickly said watching her movements.

She nodded and walked around his desk. Winter, for the life of her, couldn't understand how this man was so perfect. She knew that both of their lives weren't perfect, but he was. He was perfect for her.

"I love you," Winter blurted it out as a fierce blush scattered her cheeks. She didn't even mean to blurt it out.

Emerson's heart was beating in a pace that was concerning.

After he didn't respond, the heat of his gaze was giving Winter anxiety. Her heart was about to break, was she being clingy? Did she ruin the moment? Her bottom lip trembled a bit.

Finally Emerson broke the silence. "Winter, you don't understand how much I love you."

Just as fast as her heart was breaking, it rebuilt itself ten times as quick. Making her way back over to him, his muscular arms wrapped tightly around her.

Happy tears leaked out of her eyes. His hand smooth over her hair and he asked Winter to look at him.

She met his gaze and he smiled. Man. She adored his smile.
