*Song: It's been a long long time by Harry James*

a/n: this is a shorter chapter just because 1. I wanted to get it out and 2. I felt this scene with flip and you was so sweet that I didn't want to overfill it with the events for the next chapter. (ps this is my favorite song of all time. also thank you all sooooo much for 3K reads. I honestly can't believe it. I love you!!)

Trash littered the smooth surfaces of tables and counters. The welcome party was long over and everyone had gone their separate ways to turn in for the night. Flip was cleaning up the place. You tried to help but he could tell how exhausted you were from the day of excitement.

You were curled up on the couch reading your old copy of The Great Gatsby. But you weren't focused on the book, instead, you kept looking around the room smiling to yourself. It looked like a perfect mix of your and Flip's personal aesthetics. You could tell Maeve definitely helped him but you found it sweet that he counted your family as his enough to ask her for help.

You were so zoned out looking around that you didn't even notice Flip came over to you until he was right in front of you smiling.

"Come here darlin'" You blushed at his pet named and grabbed his hand that was extended to you.

"Where are we going?"

"Shhh just follow me."

You followed behind him still clutching onto his hand. He led you through the hall and brought you into the kitchen. The lights were dimmed and the echo dot on the counter was softly playing It's been a long long time.

"What's this Flip?"

He turned around to you with the biggest grin and bowed slightly. "May I have this dance?" He again extended an arm out which you happily accepted.

You were slightly nervous that dancing would make you way too tired but all worries went away when Flip held you in his arms. His right arm looped around your hip and squeezed. At first, you didn't realize what he was doing but once he lifted you and place your feet on top of his you realized he was making sure he was supporting you so you wouldn't be too tired. You instantly melted into his arms.

You laid your head on his chest. You could feel the vibrations in his chest from him softly humming along to the song. You nuzzled yourself closer to him. You felt at peace. Everything that had happened the past few weeks had just become a hazy memory because all you could think about was how much you loved Flip.

You moved from your cozy spot on his chest and looked up to find his eyes were already on you. You could see in his eyes the love he holds for you. You at that moment felt the same thing you did all those months ago after your relationship evolved. Flip was the endgame. He was your everything and you just wanted him to know that.

"Flip, I love you."

He moved his head slightly to plant a kiss on top of your head while saying, "I love you more than anything in this entire universe baby."

You squeezed your arms around him tightly. Never wanting to let go.

"Why don't we get married?"

Flip looked down at you and chuckled, "What like right now?"

you shrugged not wanting to fully admit that if you could do it now you would.

"I'm pretty sure I am supposed to ask you that but someday we will I promise. I'll see you walk towards me in a pretty white dress and I'll see your mama crying in the front row while Ron stands next to me hitting my back pointing to ya."

You smiled at the idea. You had always thought about your wedding day and it always included Flip. It was a known idea for you, but hearing Flip say it just made you even happier that it wasn't just your idea but also his.

You mumbled into his chest a soft, "someday." A smile took hold of your face. Before you returned your head to lay on Flip's chest you stretched and planted a kiss on his lips. He met your lips with intensity. Not in a lustful way but more as a promise. A promise that he will hold you and love you for the rest of your lives.

Flip and you stayed swaying to the music for another 3 songs. Neither of you wanted to ruin the moment but when the final song played you pulled away he met your lips with one last kiss before he scooped you into his arms again and brought you upstairs.

You giggled lightly at his need to take care of you. When he got upstairs you saw your bedroom for the first time. It was beautiful. The room itself was huge but it felt cozy. The light-colored paint met with the white bedding made the dark-colored decorations pop.

"Do you like it baby?"

You could tell Flip was nervous but he didn't need to be, "I absolutely love it!"

He chuckled at your reaction and brought you to the bed. When you landed you felt as though you had landed on a bed of marshmallows.

"Oh, my gods this is the comfiest bed I am ever felt. I mean I could literally spend the rest of my life in this bed and I would be happy."

I saw the smirk grow on his face as he said, "I could think of a few things we could do on this bed during that time." You smiled at his lustful answer. You were about to talk when he continued, "But that will have to wait for the morning because right now I want to hold you in my arms, in our new bedroom and sleep."

You couldn't argue with that so you moved over and opened your arms for him to join you. Once you were all snuggled up you couldn't help but smile because you were incandescently happy.
