28: TOO PROUD TO ADMIT?

Vansh's pov;

I woke up with a heavy headache, i looked around to find riddhima dozed off on the chair and i take a look at my phone, which is blown up by calls and messages. I try to recall the incidents after i almost had a liquor store drink. FUCK! I remembered everything. I walked towards riddhima and i fell on my knees. "Riddhima??" she woke up suddenly at the sound of my voice. "Vansh..." she said slowly, she rubbed her eyes and came into senses. 

"You are awake, finally" she said and stood up. "Vansh i guess you should leave before my brother wakes up, if he sees you, then i am pretty sure he will kill you" she said handing over my shirt and jacket. She was about to walk away, when i held her hand. "Riddhima, what about rahul? Did he trust you? He knows right nothing happened between us?" i asked her, not that i care, but i don't want some asshole spreading rumors that she slept with some other guy on her engagement day.

"Yeah he trusts me" she said while tucking her hair behind her ear. "Riddhima, yesterday i know i was pretty much out of it, but if i remember correctly, he said that you called him, vansh on several occassions? Is that true??" i hoped that it was true, which means she loves me, say it riddhima, say it!

"Yes" she said and sat in the chair behind her. "Vansh you should seriously leave" she said insisting. "He called off the engagement didn't he?" i ask her. "Its my personal matter, i would be more than happy of you stayed out of it" she said drinking the water from the glass that was kept on the table. I hold her by the shoulder, tightening my grip, not trying to hurt her, but to show i am dead serious. "Everything that you consider as personal, is personal even for me, i know why rahul called it off, he knows why he called it off, but you still won't admit right?

"Three words, eight letters. Say it, and I'm yours." I say as she looked into my eyes, damn those eyes are like deep sea of ocean the deeper you go, the deeper you realize how broken it is. But still you wanna keep going. "It won't take me a minute to say it, but you saying it will make it real enough for you, it's already the truth for me, say it riddhima" i insisted.

"I...i..." riddhima started saying, when suddenly the door swung open. "You Son of a bitch!" her brother came charging onto me, but before i could take another blow at my face, riddhima stood between us. "Leave him alone, he was about to leave anyway" she said and signaled me to go. I left the house and saw around the house, the decorations were still intact. But now it was dull despite all those decor, yesterday the guests, the laughter, the lights, really added the life to these decor, as i walked down the stairs and put on my shirt and jacket. I get in my car to leave.

Soon i reach my house. "Bhai??" rey exclaimed as i entered the house. "Vansh?" my mom came running down the stairs, not quite literally tho. "Are you alright?? You didn't even pick up the calls, we were scared, after the last time you did this, you didn't call or show up at the house for months!" mom said as she took a really good look at me.

"Did you get drunk?? You have been sober for a year, what happened?" rey asked, all their voices was just causing me more headache. "I need a shower, after that we will talk about what happened" i said and walked up to my room.

I came down after a shower and sat at the table narrating them everything that happened while sipping my coffee. "Poor girl, her engagement was called off at last minute" mom said sympathetically. I looked at rey expecting him to be stone cold after what she did to him sending him to jail for my mistakes, but what he said next took me by surprise. 

"Bhai, she loves you, everyone including her knows that, you deserve her bhai" rey said as he munched into the toast infront of him. "I thought you hated her?" i asked surprised. "I don't, her anger was justified, if you or any of my close friend died like that, i am pretty sure i would have behaved liked her, or even worse." he said. "She really is a great girl vansh, she has bought out the feeling of love in you and maturity in reyansh" mom said looking at me.

"She will be your daughter-in-law maa don't worry" i reassured her.

SAME DAY AT NIGHT

I parked my car, at a little distance from her house and silently climbed upto her window, i knocked on the window.

Riddhima's pov;

I was reading a book, but i was lost deep in my thoughts when i heard a small knock on the window, i could see a person's silhouette on the other side, i took a vase on the table in my hand and opened the window. "Whoa! chill its me" vansh exclaimed. "vansh? What on earth are you doing here?? Didn't you find anyone else's home to break into?" i said looking at him surprised. "When the gold i specifically want is here, why will i break into other's home?" he said with a smirk on his face. "Vansh, please leave" i ordered.

"Riddhima, i would love to argue with you, but i can't argue if i fall from here, so a little help please." he said then i looked at his uncomfortableness, so i helped to pull him, he came onto me and we both fell on bed and he was on top of me. I struggled to pull myself from under him.

He soon came to senses and got up. "What are you doing here??" i asked. "You were about to continue your answer, when your brother came in, i want to know the answer riddhima, NOW" he said. I froze, i didn't know what to say. "Sweet of you to assume that i was actually going to say something different, it was, and it is always the same, I HATE YOU" I said looking right into his eyes, but i had a feeling i was lying, not sure whether i was lying to him or myself."

"LIE, riddhima just say it" he insisted. "I don't feel anything towards you vansh, except hate"
