"It's safe to say where (Y/N) stands. I'd never thought I'd say it but... She's our enemy now. And we're going to have to kill her."
"Reiner, isn't that a bit too far?! Now (Y/N) may have abandoned her duties but she's our friend, we have to at least--"
"She isn't our friend anymore, Bert! She left us and now she's befriending these island devils! We have to move on and complete the mission we were given to do, even if it means getting rid of (Y/N). Don't you agree, Annie?"
The blonde female doesn't have a lick of interest in something so insignificant, but deep down, it unsettled her. She knew (Y/N) for quite some time and even consider her a friend.
She was really trying hard to forgive her, but it was so easy to hate her after what she had did. Maybe if she had stayed, Marcel would be alive. Reiner had told her it was (Y/N)'s fault. And something in her mind told her the stupid brute was right, even if he really wasn't.
"Good luck with that." A voice sharply cut through the quietness and the three suddenly raised their guard, uneasiness on Reiner's and Bertholdt's expression while Annie seemed to remain calm.
Stepping into the light was the suspect herself, (Y/N) (L/N).
No emotion harbored her face as she walked towards the three, a slit in the palm of her hand as blood splattered onto the dirt.
"Sit down. We're going to talk. And don't try anything or I'll blow you three to smithereens. Maybe then they'd get the idea and really figure out who the Armored Titan is." She looks over to Reiner, a frown forming on her face.
The three begrudgingly sat beside each other on a log as (Y/N) sat on a separate one across from them. Nothing was said but with how tense the air was, there was an obvious sense of distrust and words that needed to be said.
"That was bold, what you and Bertholdt did back in Shiganshina. I'm also guessing with all the titans that appeared, Annie had to have a part in it, didn't you?" This time, she looks over to Annie, their eyes never meeting but (Y/N) could see the anxiety on her face.
"I was there, when Bertholdt broke the wall. My mother and I were shopping in the market when the chaos started. We'd only been there a few months, hoping to start a new life, but I knew it'd be time before you guys showed up. My mother's leg was injured but I managed to carry her to safety. I had to listen to the screams of people around me as they grieved for their dead ones--"
"Stop it..." Reiner mutters but (Y/N) ignore him and continues talking.
"Do you know how awful it was? I watched a mother cry for her dead daughter."
"I said stop it..."
"A child beg for someone to save his parents from being eaten by titans."
"Shut up, you traitorous bastard!" Reiner shouted, throwing a sloppy punch at (Y/N) which she blocked with her uninjured hand, forming a fist with the other and socking Reiner on the cheek. She then kneed him in the gut before kneeing him in the face.
Reiner fell to the ground, wheezing as blood fell from his broken nose, a defeated look on his face.
"I may be a traitor but I can never call myself a murderer like yourself! Do you know what the hell you've done?! Do you know the type of pain and suffering that you caused to others!? Do you know that my mother nearly died because of the destruction that you caused?"
(Y/N) kicked him in the side this time, angry as she had never been. Because of them, she had lost her new home. Because of them, she had lost friends. Because of them, she nearly lost the only family that she had left.
"Stop, (Y/N), that's enough!" Bertholdt exclaimed grabbing her arm and yanking her away. (Y/N) glared at him before ripping her arm out of his grasp.
"Was it enough for you when you slaughtered all those people!? Did you feel like you did enough then?" Bertholdt grew quiet, anxiously rubbing his arm as his eyes connected with the ground. There was guilt and dread on his face but it wasn't enough to stop (Y/N)'s fury.
"What about you, Annie? You feel like it was enough when you called those very same titans that tore apart families to the walls? Do you think it's enough for you to just go back home to your father?"
No answer came from her so (Y/N) just scoffed in disinterest. Truth be told, it hurt treating them like this. (Y/N) knew it was for the better lives of their families and themselves, but so many innocent people that (Y/N) knew had died because of their actions. She had a right to be upset as they did.
"Marcel isn't with you. I'm guessing he's most likely dead."
"He was... He was eaten by a titan, trying to save me." Reiner said through a choked voice, refusing to meet (Y/N)'s eyes.
(Y/N)'s hands balled into fists, letting out a shaky sigh, feeling a crushing weight in her chest.
She was close to Marcel. He was the first person that she had befriended during the Warrior Program and they had a bond like siblings.
Hearing of his death made her feel furious and dejected. He didn't deserve an ending like that.
But he chose his actions and did his duty.
"Well I-- It doesn't matter. Marcel made his choice and he paid the price. And the same thing will happen to you all if you don't leave. This is the only warning you're getting..." (Y/N) warned in a serious tone, steam emitting from her hand.
"We're not leaving. We have a mission to complete and we'll kill you even if it means getting it done."
"Fine, have it your way then. But do know I won't just sit back and watch. I'll fight and I'll make sure you lose. Don't let me be the one to have to kill you." (Y/N) spoke before she walked off, not even sparing them a glance.
Her mind had already been made up. She wasn't going to turn back now.
