Chapter 15

Riddhima’s POV

Day 3:

 Today we decided to visit Chadwick falls. It was again a good place for nature lovers.

Since no vehicles were allowed there, we had to walk atleast for 4-5 kms.

After walking for around 3 kms, I stopped my trail  and caught my stomach.

With deep breaths I said, ”I am seriously going to lose around 5-10 kg in these five days”.

This made everyone laugh their hearts out. I seriously don’t know how my misery is a cause for everyone’s happiness.

“Oh Come on now,   Your stamina will increase because of us!”, Vihaan said in "as a matter of fact" way.

I looked at him , giving him a death glare.

“Okay..! I am going to continue my walk towards the waterfall. People let us go before Ridhz kills her with her glares.”, Vihaan said.

“Haha, Vihaan give poor Ridhz a break! We will make fun of her later”, Ruhi said as she winked at him.

“Good thought babe!”, Vihaan said as he high fived her.

“Arghhh!”, I groaned.

“You need to learn to chill!”, Raj said.

I looked at him with irritation.

“I’ll ask you to chill when you are deadly tired’, I scoffed.

Raj looked alarmed.

“Ridhz, you are eighteen years old and you have the stamina of a fifty year old. After going back to Chennai, Promise me that you start doing morning walks”.

I looked at him with my puppy dog eyes

“This”, he said pointing at my face, ”Won’t  work with me”.

“Ok. I promise”, I said making face at him.

“Good girl!”, he said as he ruffled my hair.

“Hey! Don’t do that!”, I said as I kempt my hair.

This made him chuckle.

After walking for a km more, we finally reached the waterfall.

It was a beautiful sight to behold. Not many people had come here. The main disadvantage was the path was very narrow and slippery. The place was a little under developed. If it was maintained properly, this would have become a great tourist spot.

 After taking lots of pics ,Raj stated, ”Let us go before the wild animals come because it’s getting dark and panthers come here to drink water.”

I scoffed,”Yea right!”.

The locals who were travelling with us all this while said, “ well you’re friend is right. It is better you people leave as soon as possible”.

Ruhi and I had a horror look in our faces. This made the boys laugh.

“Girls we still have a little time. You are reacting as if a panther is standing before you!”, Vihaan exclaimed

This made Ruhi and I punch him.

“Ouch!”, Vihaan said as he winced in pain.

“Bro! never mess with these girls”, Raj said stroking vihaan’s back.

“Lesson learnt!”, Vihaan replied.

Ruhi and I high fived signaling our victory.

Two more days left for the journey to end.

Day 4:

Today the boys decided us to show the local places in shimla.

We first went to “The mall”. It was a long stretch of commercial shops and eateries. I decided to get something for mom and dad. I bought a shawl for mom and a cap that locals wear for dad. Then I thought I woud buy the same thing for Suraj.

As I turned, Raj was standing behind me. I could see that he was hiding something behind his back. I raised an eyebrow at him.

“Ahem!”, he cleared his throat ,” I have something for you!”.

“You do?”, I asked in a suspicious tone.

“Yup”, he said handing me a packet.

I opened the packet and saw a beautiful pair of ear rings.

“ Oh my god! They are so beautiful!”, I exclaimed.

A genuine and heart warming smile crossed his face.

“Thank you!”, I hugged him.

“You’re Welcome”, he said hugging me back.

We started to walk towards a stall which served hot momos. Vihaan and ruhi were already eating there.

After a relishing meal, we went to a skating rink.

As usual, Ruhi and I didn’t know how to skate. So the boys ended up teaching us. I fell several times, landing straight on my face.

Being the mean boys they were, they just laughed and didn’t bother to help me get up.

Ruhi was holding Vihaan's hand and skating. As i was trying to my best alone, someone caught my hand from behind.

"Just try to make a V with your legs, you will be fine", Raj said assuring me.

I obeyed and ended up balancing myself  and not falling for the rest of the evening.

After the skating rink, we decided to go to the Christ church. As we reached there, I said, “guys you carry on. I’ll meet you inside in 5”.

“You want something?”, raj asked something.

“Yea! Just want to buy something for dad!”, I lied.

“Ok.”, he said as they proceeded inside the church.

After 10 mins , I joined them inside the church. It was like a little England in india. It had a lovely atmosphere. I was impressed by the cleanliness and very well maintained interiors.

After stepping out of the church, Vihaan said, ”Guys ! Ruhi and I want to spend some more time here. Why don’t you go ahead and enjoy yourselves?”.

“Okay”, Raj and I said in unision.

After Vihaan and ruhi left, I called out to Raj, ”raj, i have something for you!”.

His eyes widened. He said, ”It is not necessary for you to get something since I gave you the ear rings”.

I narrowed my eyes and said , ” I actually wanted to get something for you but I couln’t think of anything since you have everything .”

His look softened, ”I am sorry. Okay, so what did you get me?”

I handed him the plastic cover.

He took out the content and jumped.

“Sexy jacket! Thanks Ridhz!!”, He said.

Seeing him happy brought a smile to my face.

He then leaned and gave me a kiss on the cheek.

I was shocked and so was he.

“Umm… okay .. let’s drop you home”, he said before turning towards his car.
