Chapter Eleven

   "Kourai, we might need some help preparing for the festival later. Help us decorate the stalls." Hoshiumi's mom said, but she didn't even wait for Hoshiumi to answer. Whether he liked it or not, Hoshiumi had no choice but to help.

The short boy scratched his head and frowned. "But I've got things to do! I'll meet up with my client later! I can't be late!" He complained, but he let himself get dragged. Naomi would tease him otherwise that he's still a lazy boy.

"It won't take long!" Hoshiumi's mother winked at him, and Hoshiumi rolled his eyes. He wasn't buying this.

"This is a scam," Hoshiumi said under his breath. "We're going to the mountain. And even by the time we get there, it will be sundown!"

"Oh, don't be such a whiny guy." His mom said.

Hoshiumi heaved out a sigh and surrendered to his mom who was just like him, but he didn't want to be late for his first client.

They were on the way to the mountain when a message notified Hoshiumi. As expected, it was his client.

From: Tourist #1

Hoshiumi-san, I'm on my way there.

To: Tourist #1

Okay. Where do you want us to meet?

Hoshiumi looked around his surroundings. The only way in and out of the town was by the cliffside road, and they were going to that mountain for preparations. Hoshiumi could still be on time for the meetup after he helped the others decorate for the festival.

To: Tourist #1

How about this, meet me at the foot of the mountain. The cliffside road is near your hotel so I'll just lead you there.

From: Tourist #1

Okay. See you soon!

A small curve formed at the edge of Hoshiumi's lips. He was looking forward to meeting his first client, but at the same time, he was nervous as well. He might be a middle-aged man, or someone older than him. What if it was a girl?

Hoshiumi really hope it wasn't a girl or he wouldn't do his job properly.

It was midday when the residents finished decorating for the festival. Apparently, the villagers from the Rainbow Village helped, and it made the work a lot easier. Hoshiumi wished he wouldn't have come if he knew this was gonna happen. He should've spent time preparing to meet his client. Nonetheless, he was already near the way his client was going.

Hoshiumi wanted to take his client on a fast trip to the town as soon as he got here. Then, they'll somehow eat at the beach, and lead his client to the hotel. It was his plan, and he wanted to make sure he wouldn't screw up.

But thirty minutes later, waiting for his client's next message, Hoshiumi was getting irritated and impatient. So he wanted to cool off for a moment.

"Mom, I'll just walk somewhere."

His mom was still busy chatting with two middle-aged guys and an elder woman so Hoshiumi decided to take off. Maybe he'd just wait there until his client texts him again.

The cliffside was one of Hoshiumi's favorite places in the whole town. It has a breathtaking view, and he somehow wanted to take his client here. The view from the peak of the mountain was more beautiful because they could see the whole town from up there.
