"We learned so much about 1/2!" 1 said, "But is there any end to the fractions you can make?" 1 finished. "Wait! Fractions, us numbers that are not made of whole one blocks should be called fractions, the first number in my numberling is 1! That first number should be called, a numerator!" 1/2 said, "And my second number in my numberling is 2, that should be called, a denominator!" 1/2 finished. 

"But what are the numerator and denominator for?" 1 said, "The numerator represents how many of the cut parts are in the number, and the denominator is how many pieces the 1 is cut into!" 1/2 answered.

That meant 1/2's numberling was representing 1 piece of 1 cut into 2.

"But what if I was divided into pieces too, would we get 1/4?" 1/2 questioned.

"Well 1/2, we will just have to wait and see!" 1 responded.
