CHAPTER NINETY-FOUR
✧
-: seventh year :-── IN WHICH HER WORRIES
ARE ANSWERED. . .
Soon enough and the trio had crossed the threshold into the Great Hall, recieving their timetables as they passed the Gryffindor prefects stood by the doorway. "Damn it. We have to wait until tomorrow for Umbridge." George frowned as he stared down at the sheet of parchment.
"I didn't get mine." Elodie had barely noticed it as they passed the prefects, too busy peering over Fred's shoulder at his as they walked. "That being said.. I don't really know what classes I'm taking."
"That... might be a problem." Fred actually looked concerned for once. Mildly so, but still clearly confused. Which made Elodie worry a lot more than she probably needed to. She was nervous enough as it was, with being at Hogwarts properly for the first time and Umbridge spreading whatever she was trying to do - it was hard for her to understand so much English at once and now she didn't even know what she was doing at the school.
"I think it might be." Elodie nodded her agreement, swallowing the sudden nerves that had risen with the realisation. Nerves that she really couldn't have; not as the Beauxbatons' Triwizard champion. And not just that - she generally wasn't a shy person, and prided herself on her ability to make friends and speak up on things she needed to.
"Hey - hey, don't worry about it." Fred slung an arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer as they apporached the area of the Gryffindor table where Angelina and Lee were waiting for them, amongst other friends. "George - piss off for a minute, mate."
"Fred!" Elodie looked up at him in horror. "George-" She turned to face the second twin, who was already chuckling and sliding into the bench beside Lee.
"Don't worry about him, he's fine." Fred told her. "I just want to tell you to please not worry, okay? It's not at all worth it. Me and George - or just me if he doesn't want to - can skip our first lesson and come with you to go and find McGonagall and sort it out for you."
"No.. I'll go by myself." Elodie smiled up at him. "It's fine, I do know where to go. Let's just have breakfast, okay?" She couldn't just have the twins do everything for her for a year; at some point she would need to become more independent anyway.
"If you're sure." Fred was eyeing her as they sat down at the table, Angela and Alicia greeting Elodie with smiles. Their topic of conversation turned to Quidditch as breakfast proceeded, the Beaumont girl happy to find familar dishes on the table, helping her feel just that little nit more at home there at Hogwarts.
As it would be properly arranged by Angelina, Elodie would just end up attending the formal Quidditch tryouts the following week (she was trying to have it scheduled for Wednesday, but with any luck she could manage to organise it with Madam Hooch and Professor McGonagall For Friday instead), where the new seventh year would try for the team just like everyone else, and hopefully she would end up being one of the two chosen to fill the respective gaps in the team.
When breakfast came to an end, Elodie reunited the the twins once more, Lee joining them to turn the group into four.
"Her office is on the first floor of the Defense Against the Dark Arts Tower." Lee informed her. It just so happened that the three boys were very much familiar with them location.
"Overlooking the Training Grounds - you can't miss it." George added.
"Right.. I think I know where you mean." Elodie nodded. "First floor... Defense Tower. Got it."
"We'll meet up back here for break, okay?" Fred smiled at her, an encouraging sort of grin. He leant down and kissed her cheek. Moments later snd the three boys were strolling off in the other direction to their shared class, and Elodie was rather determined as she made her way to the office the boys had located for her.
Climbing up the circular staircase, Elodie made sure to have her couple of questions prepared. What classes was she going to take - and if she didn't like those ones how would she got about changing them?
Eventually she came to a stop in front of the door, a gleaming gold nameplate staring back at her. With a deep breath she knocked.
"Come in." The accented voice she had gotten to know so well during her months there as a Beauxbatons student spoke, echoing out into the hallway. Elodie pushed the door open, greeted by the sight of Professor McGonagall.
"It seems the Weasley twins' genius is not reflected in their grades. Please, Miss Beaumont, have a seat."
