CHAPTER THREE

-: sixth year :-

── IN WHICH SHE ENTERS

. . .

Madame Maxime had frog-marched the Beauxbatons students back to the carriage they came on after the feast was over. Every single French pupil was buzzing about what they heard just heard,  wondering who exactly would get the postion as champion that they so desperately wanted.

Fleur and Elodie had caught Madame Maxime mumbling to herself in extremely quick French as she stared at them, mentioning the word goblet and champion more than a few times.

"So it's me or you." Fleur joked as the pair prepared for bed. As there was only a dozen or so students, the smallish rooms in the massive carriage were easily filled up by the students. And of course, Fleur and Elodie had decided to dorm together.

"You would think so - but hey, I think that I'll be more than busy." Elodie shrugged, and met Fleur's eyes. The blonde girl winked, and they dissolved into giggles.

A knock on the door shut the girls up, and Elodie pulled her jacket over her vest and shorts, and walked over to the door. Madame Maxime was stood there, and instantly Fleur stood up, curtseying.

"Good evening madame." Elodie smiled sweetly, and the giant woman, who was currently crouching down to see through the doorway, beckoned them out.

"Good to see that you two are preparing for a good night of rest." The giantess continued, as Elodie and Fleur stood in the hallway. The two had pulled their dress cloaks over their pajamas, feeling too cold in the hallway-style area.

"I hope you are preparing to enter?" She continued, giving the girls certain looks that made them feel that they almost couldn't say no.

"I entered early." Fleur said, giving the woman the dazzling smile she always did. And Elodie nodded, realising that was where the Delacour girl had disappeared to earlier.

"And you?" Madame Maxime turned towards Elodie and she faltered. As much as she wanted to - Elodie didn't know if she could do it, especially when she had learnt more about it.

Fleur was looking at her in the same expectant way, also wondering whether or not her best friend was planning on entering. So far, Elodie had just been telling Fleur she would help her during the tournament, and that was all she had been thinking about.

"I.. I think I'm going to sleep on it." Elodie admitted. "I'll consider it and then enter in the morning." Madame Maxime seemed happy enough with her answer, and left the two girls for the night.

And that was exactly what Elodie did, and when her and Fleur went to breakfast in the Great Hall the next morning, she found herself stood in front of the Goblet, her piece of parchment clutched in her hand.

She was about to enter when a few shouts could be heard, and she turned around to see the twins and their friend running down the stairs. Fred winked at her, and she stood back slightly, to try and see what was to happen next.

"Done it," Fred said in a triumphant whisper to Harry Potter and his friends, "Just taken it." After listening for a few more moments, finding out that they were talking about an Aging potion.

She shook her head, giggling softly to herself. This alerted the group nearby her, and they looked over. The ginger boy from the night before seemed to stare at her with wide eyes, the others just confused.

"You entering then?" One of the twins asked, and Elodie glanced at the smile on his face and recognised him as George. She nodded, but didn't say much more.

"I don't think an aging potion will get you past the line." She commented, as the twins were about to step over the line. They froze, and looked over at her.

"Why?" Fred asked, and Elodie stepped closer to the line. "You don't think we're talented enough to brew the potion?"

"Please, I barely know you." Elodie scoffed. "But I don't think Professor Dumbledore would let a simple aging potion get you past the line."

"Thank you." The girl who had commented about Fleur the previous night exclaimed, and Elodie looked over. "I mean - that's what I was trying to tell them." She explained, and the French girl nodded.

"You can only try, I suppose." Elodie said, gesturing towards the line. Fred and George glanced at each other, and Fred winked at Elodie for the second time before they stepped over the line.

The reaction was instant - a sizzling sound could be heard, and with a loud bang, the two boys were shot backwards, and a noise sounded as they hit the floor. The smoke cleared, and shouts of laughter could be heard as the two boys emerged out of it with beards and white hair.

"Told you." Elodie smirked, and the two boys could only laugh as they saw each other.

"I did warn you," said a deep, amused voice, and everyone turned to see Professor Dumbledore coming out of the Great Hall.He surveyed Fred and George, his eyes twinkling. "I suggest you both go up to Madam Pomfrey. She is already tending to Miss Fawcett, of Ravenclaw, and Mr. Summers, of Hufflepuff, both of whom decided to age themselves up a little too. Though I must say, neither of their beards is anything like as fine as yours."

Professor Dumbledore noticed Elodie in her powder blue uniform and nodded, smiling at her. He then walked away, and the two twins made their way to the Hospital Wing, followed by Lee - Elodie had finally found out his name.

With nothing there to distract her, she could finally enter, and Elodie stepped over the age line - with no consequences. She stood before the goblet, the blue flame illuminating her features.

She dropped the folded parchment into the goblet with a smile, and the flames roared, telling her that she had in fact been entered. And so, Elodie walked out of the Entrance hall to find Fleur for breakfast.

Wondering if it would be her, her best friend or someone else who would represent their school to be a Triwizard Tournament champion.
