CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN

-: sixth year :-

── IN WHICH SOMEONE COMES TO VISIT

. . .

"Well that was awkward." Fleur sang, as she pulled her cloak around her shoulders as the two best friends stepped out onto the cobbled streets of Hogsmeade.

"What? No it wasn't." Elodie replied, looking strangely at her best friend, who linked their arms as they walked alone, her short but thinly heeled shoes not helping so much as she walked.

"For me it was. God, the sexual tension between you and Fred is unbelievable. When are you planning on getting over this little thing about moving here?" Fleur asked, and Elodie's jaw dropped, a couple of Beauxbaton girls giggling as they walked past.

"Fleur!" She gasped, and the blonde shrugged.

"Just saying it how I see it. You clearly like him, if you want to move here then move here me and Amelie aren't exactly going to die. Just have sex with him you dithering idiot and get on with it." The part-veela continued, and Elodie just looked more and more shocked.

"Fleur Isabelle Delacour!" Elodie gasped, and Fleur only shrugged. "Less of the talk about my non-existent sex life and more about how I think you need to get one."

"Elodie!" Fleur grumbled. "Fine. I will no longer talk about how you and Fred just need to get out the slight hiccup in your relationship and progress past it because it's clear that you both like each other."

"Ok thank you. Now, I am planning on being normal with Fred soon enough, and it wasn't as awkward as you think. I just had to talk to you before I thought about my decision." Elodie shrugged.

"I think that you should think about it. See where relationship goes. Then, when it comes to leaving, you have all summer to decide." Fleur told her.

"That's the best idea you've had in a while." Elodie said, laughing when Fleur shoved her shoulder, the champion falling slightly to the side, Fleur yelping as she stumbled without the support of her friend's arm.

And when Fleur finally regained her balance, the best friends continued their visit around Hogsmeade. They would visit many other shops, buying bags full of sweets from Honeydukes and a couple of things from elsewhere, the both of them finding gifts for their family back home.

They would return up to their lodgings for a evening of fun - or what Fleur considered fun. She had a new stack of glossy magazines and they both had a large variety of sweets to gorge themselves on.

"You know I should really be practising for the second task now." Elodie said, Fleur beckoning her over from her position on the bed.

"You're just using the bubblehead charm right? You're sorted." Fleur was sat at the dressing table, staring in the mirror as Elodie approached, holding out a pot of face mask and a applicator to the champion when she approached.

"Yes, but that's just for my breathing. What about what's under the water?" Elodie continued, and Fleur only shrugged, holding still as the girl applied the face mask.

"You have a point." She said afterwards, carefully lowering a jelly slug into her mouth, Elodie moving away to wash the applicator in their small en-suite bathroom.

She entered the room just as a knock could be heard on the door, and the best friend's eyes met. They weren't expecting anyone, and Elodie walked over to the door, peering through the peephole.

"It's Raphael." Elodie hissed, and Fleur looked horrified, mouthing something to her best friend that she didn't quite get. The champion unlocked the door and opened it the tiniest bit. "Raphael, hi, how can I help?" She asked.

"Is something going on?" He replied, trying to push the door open further. Elodie cleared her throat and returned his push with one of her own, the gap between her and the door becoming even further. "There's some guy asking for you. About this tall-" Raphael gestured to a height taller than himself, "And he's got ginger hair."

"Oh - that's Fred." Elodie said. "Tell him I'll be out in a second." Elodie shoved the door closed in Raphael's face before he could ask her anything else, and Fleur looked horrified.

"He didn't see me, did he? Merlin, he's such a creep." The veela girl shivered, Elodie reassuring her that he didn't. "But go on, quick, go get your man back."

"He didn't go anywhere-" Elodie made a face, Fleur shrugged. But, the Beaumont girl did as she said, and pulled a fleece over her clothes, stepping out into the corridor and making her way down to the front door.

Where Fred was waiting, sheepishly looking up at her.
