Lorencio awoke to a knock at the door and a cold and mostly empty bed, of course August would've left already, they were after all still enemies, last night was a slip up, a mistake that shall never be remembered. He stood up off of the bed and went to unlock and open the door, Lorencio knew who was at the door, it was always the same person, the leader of the revolution and his uncle Nicolas Ward. He opened the door and was greeted by both his uncle and his mother Tanya, he had forgotten the breakfast arrangement he had made with his mother, again. "Good morning uncle, good morning mother, give me five minutes and I'll be downstairs so we can go to breakfast and discuss some matters." he said in a calm demeanor, but underneath he was nervous, scared that they had found out about last night. "It's fine honey, take your time, we'll be on the balcony drinking our morning tea." his mother had answered him before taking his uncle by the arm and dragging him away from Lorencio's room before he could even utter a word of scolding towards Lorencio.
That's a thing Lorencio loved about his adoptive mother, she never let anyone harm Lorencio, no matter who that person might've been. Lorencio hadn't thought about the day his parents died in a long time ago, they died in a fire, 18 years ago, he was only 2 years old and was outside playing with the nanny when it happened, after it was all over he got taken in by Tanya and her husband Alexzander Ward, kind people who were in the upper class of society, they were one of the 6 dukes of their kingdom, Lorencio enjoyed a very happy childhood, despite the tragedy that happened he never felt like he was an orphan, Tanya and Alex made sure of that. They were his go to people, still are. Unfortunately Alexzander didn't live long enough to see what Lorencio has become, Alex died when Lorencio was 16 years old, he got shot by a burglar.
Anyways Lorencio made his way towards his desk to collect some papers he had written for his uncle, he noticed a new parchment on his desk, it was ripped into half and folded, he opened it, it was a letter from non other than August Moody himself.
Dear Lorencio,
Sorry I had to leave so early without bidding you a proper good bye, I hope that this small letter and a kiss on your forehead was enough. I wrote this letter ih a hurry so I'm sorry if the hand writing is messy, though nothing can compare to your beautiful lettering, anyways, I thought I would write you a letter in return, since you've been writing me letters for three years, I took them with me and I'll hold on to them dearly. I wanted to ask you to meet me at the old and abandoned mill just outside the town, on Monday? I'll be waiting for you there at midnight.
Sincerely,
A.M.
Lorencio was flustered, he had received a letter from August Moody, the man he had loved for so long, of course he was going to see him on Monday, suddenly Lorencio remembered that his mouther and uncle where waiting for him downstairs. He sprinted out of the room and down the stairs, tripping on the small carpet at the bottom of them, but caching himself before he could fall face first onto the wooden floor, he arrived at the front door and stopped as he heard the conversation his mother and his uncle had. "We ought to tell him the truth soon Nico, he has a right to know, he's 20 after all it's been enough time." his mothers voice rang out, firm but soft "I know Tanya, but I don't think it's the right time, yet, maybe soon, after all of this madness is over." his uncle replied, timidly. That was always a funny thing to Lorencio, his uncle Nicolas was his mothers older brother, yet he seemed to always be scared of her for some reason.
He slowly opened the front door, a vice grip on the handle, strong enough to turn his knuckles white. "I'm sorry to have made you wait mother, we can go now." Lorencio spoke in a respecting tone, he admired this woman and all she has done for him. "Lorencio honey, what did I tell you about speaking to me in such a tone of voice." stern as always came her retort "Of course, how could I have forgotten, sorry moma." he said tone much more relaxed. "No worries, shall we go?" she had replied "Why yes, dearest mother." he took her by the hand and lead her towards the awaiting carriage, helping her inside before entering himself and closing the door afterwards.
"How was your stay at Nico's place?" the same question she always asked him after picking him up from his uncles place "It was fine, as always." Lorencio couldn't help but smile at the thought of last night "Oh, really, then why does your smile say that it was a different kind of fine?" she asked in a joking manner "Because August was in my room last night, he read all the letters I wrote for him, stayed the night and left before anyone noticed he was there and took the letters with him. He also left me a small letter this morning. Wrote that it was only fair, since I've written him so many." Lorencio said in one breath "Slow down Lorencio, or you'll choke, I know already that August gave you a little visit." she smiled at him "But, how?" he questioned her "I saw him run sown the street like a maniac, right outside of the front lawn. I might be old, but I'm not stupid, I was once your age too you know?" she replied smugly.
After their breakfast, they vent back to the Ward mansion, where Tanya had to finish of some paperwork related to her business, so Lorencio went up to his room to finish off the plan for the next attack they had planed on the royal family, when he found his dog sitting at the foot of the bed he simply couldn't resist to lay down and take a small nap with Benji.
