On that Thursday, Sam woke up before Bucky to find an ideal present for Peter online. He wasn't finding much that was good for a boy turning twenty one years old. There wasn't much to give someone of that age besides money. There wasn't much to give Peter since was Tony Stark's son, a rich man's son who can buy and build what he wants and needs.

Sam closed his laptop, he would just have to get something simple. He checked his watch, it was almost seven. Bucky was usually up before seven but Bucky did fight his medicine a little to watch the end round of Chopped. Then he felt a little body stretching against his. He looked down at Bucky, his little face was scrunched up and it was honestly the most adorable thing ever.

"Good morning, little man." Bucky yawned then curled in Sam's side. "We have to go somewhere today. Let's get going so we can back before your nap." Sam picked him up and brought him to the bathroom. Bucky yawned again and held onto Sam. "You have to take a bath." Bucky shook his head. "Okay, just for this morning." Sam changed Bucky, he sat Bucky on the couch then went to take a shower. He went back in the living room, Bucky was still watching Sesame Street. Sam fixed Bucky's milk then fixed himself eggs and toast. He sat on the couch, he held Bucky's milk with one hand while eating his breakfast with the other hand. Not ideal but nobody was complaining.

Once they both ate and digested, they left the house and went to their local clothing store.

Sam put Bucky in the shopping cart then walked around. They walked to the men's section but Sam didn't know Peter's size. He wasn't a small adult, he wasn't large. Sam got a few medium shirts and a few belts.

He went to the baby/toddler section and got Bucky more clothes.

"Ah." Bucky pointed to a light up dog. Sam got the toy and handed it to him. The dog's ears crinkled and its nose lit up once it had batteries in it.

"You want this?" Sam asked. Bucky nodded. He already had a little blue plush dog but one more wouldn't hurt. Bucky held onto the dog while Sam went walked around to get a few things for himself. Once they arrived at check out, Sam held up two gift cards. "Pick one." Bucky looked at the cards then at Sam. "It's for a friend's son." Bucky still didn't know what that means. One card was showing food and the other was showing clothes. Bucky stared at the food. "This one? Good choice." They checked out. Bucky held onto the little dog while Sam put him in the car.

Once they arrived home, Bucky played with the new toy dog and his blue stuffed dog. Sam wrapped up the present and signed the card.

"Can I see your hand?" Sam asked. Bucky handed him his flesh hand. And they signed Bucky Barnes. "Good. Now we'll only be there for a few minutes. Nat and Steve will be there." Bucky was more occupied with his toys. Sam could accept this as physical therapy for today.

The rest of this day was filled with Bucky laying on Sam while snuggling with his two toys. They watched a child friendly movie that wasn't Disney until dinner.

They had their dinner of milk and leftover McDonald's. Sam got Bucky bathed and dressed for the night. Sam laid Bucky on the bed while he took his own shower. When he got back, Bucky was overly interested in the tv. Chopped was on, but it was Chopped desserts. Bucky hasn't seen an episode dedicated to desserts but it seemed interesting to him and Sam didn't blame him.

That Friday, Sam got a text from a woman who was supposed to be Bucky's physical therapist. She would like to see him on Monday. Then he got another text from a man, his speech therapist, stating he wants to see Bucky Tuesday. That would work pretty good but that also meant Sam's time with Bucky was becoming limited.

Sam shook his head and sighed lightly, careful not to wake Bucky. His only job was get Bucky healthy and ready for a loving home.

Not that he wasn't supposed to be ready for potential of attachment and protective instincts.
