Chapter Twelve: Smitten
NICK and Elle stayed in his parents' house for the next three days planning the extravagant wedding that Rachel Morgan suggested. His parents insisted that both of them deserved a grand wedding. Matapos ng maghapong pagtatalo ng mag-asawang Morgan ay saka nila tinanong nila si Elle kung ano ang suggestion niya.
"Uhm, I..." She gulped. "I prefer a beach wedding po. Isla Anubis is wonderful when the sun is setting, then, the warm sun will shower the whole ceremony with its rays," Elle said, pitching in her suggestion for her wedding. She can already feel the warmth of the sand and the setting sun on her skin. She loved the sea, especially Isla Anubis.
"That's also wonderful! Just like Logan and his wife's wedding," Augustus replied with a smile.
"I believe her name is Niezel Anadallo, honey," Rachel corrected. "Their wedding is so magical."
Oh, yes. How can Elle forget that wedding? Island Restaurant is the one who catered the reception just nearby the spot where the ceremony was held. Maybe, that's where she got the idea of beach wedding. Elle saw how magical it was...
"Okay, beach wedding."
Elle looked at Nick beside her when he responded. He's reading a magazine that endorses michelun star bakeshops who makes custom cakes.
"I remember! Nick also loves the beach." Rachel clapped and shook her husband's shoulder. "Honey, what do you think?"
"Whatever you want, hon." Augustus replied, then looked at his son. "Remember that a happy wife equals happy life, son."
Nick grinned in agreement. Rachel Morgan is a headache but, when nourished with love and care, can be the most charming of all. Nick is a witness to the strong and unbreakable bond between his parents. Nick also witnessed them fight but his mother always ends up in his father's arms.
He came from a couple who had a fairytale love story yet Nick is marrying out of love just for the convenience of it. He will not need to endure his mom's nagging about his love life anymore. He get to work in the island without interruptions, then go home to enjoy lusty pleasures with Elle on the marital bed.
Nick almost grinned but he stopped himself. He needed to stop thinking about her and the damned honeymoon! They got married because of his goddamned request, for pete's sake! She agreed to marry him because she needed help from him— a win-win situation for them both. Nick doesn't even know if she wanted to share a bed with him.
He surveyed the picture of the vanilla cake on the magazine to shift his mind from thinking of her. He's not allowed to lust on her unless she wanted to. He's going to respect her wishes. If she wanted to get married just for the benefits of it such as his help and protection, so be it. Nick, however, could offer more in their marriage, especially in bed (No doubt about that). That's up to Elle, though.
He heaved a sigh. Then, Nick noticed Elle looking at the magazine he's been holding as if she wanted to get involved.
"What flavor of cake would you want?" Nick asked out of the blue, hoping that Elle indeed wanted to participate in the cake choosing.
"Caramel! Caramel!" Elle's green eyes flashed excitement like the one that most little kid express when overjoyed. Humawak pa ang dalaga sa kanyang braso. "Caramel, please?"
Nick wiggled his brows in amusement as his lips arched in a half smile. He never saw Elle this excited before.
"How can I refuse?"
"Yes!" Elle punched in the air and giggled. Nick just noticed that she didn't wear her retainers today, and she looked stunning. It emphasized the plumpness of her pinkish lips and how amazing her smile is.
