Y/N's Pov:

Sometimes it feels like you were in a dream, or like your floating above you own body, watching somebody control you. You weren't able to do anything, just watch and observe.

"Y/N." Mia's voice rang in your head. You whipped your head up to where she was at, she was making pasta, something she normally makes. You remembered you were holding Rose, trying to get her to sleep. It felt like you were lost in your own trance. "I don't want you to miss your trip."

"I'm already packed, besides it's just a little road trip." You got up from the couch walking past her, but she just followed you, like a worried little timid puppy that was afraid for others.

"I just want you to be safe." You could hear the concern in her voice, but she was just an over-thinker. Ever since she's taken that medication, she's been a little bit of an over thinker, but only to you of course. When it comes to Ethan, he's a pain in the ass, not just to her, but to everyone, even to you.

"I'll be fine. It's not like some giant bird is gonna come from the sky and take me to a different place." You joked as you slowly walked up the stairs, careful not to wake Rose up.

"That's not funny." Mia said with her stern scary voice.

"You have to admit, that was funny." You chuckled thinking about what you had just said. You turned to your left walking down the hallway towards Mia and Ethan's room. "Where is Ethan?"

"Working." You could visible hear her roll her eyes, she didn't like talking about him. You opened the door, toys everywhere on the floor. You carefully stepped over some getting to the crib. You gently placed her down softly watching her yawn quietly.

Rose wasn't even your daughter, but it sometimes felt like she could be. Even though she did have some of the infection in her body, you would treat her right. Much better then what Ethan does. You rolled your eyes thinking about him. 'Hmm guess it is easy to get annoyed by him when he isn't even here,' You thought to yourself quietly.

After the whole Baker incident, you didn't have anywhere to go. Before that you didn't. Your brother was living with his fiance, hoping to start a family sometime soon after a long time, the older sister was in a hospital, your younger siblings are living with your parents...god knows where. You ran away from home, so you had no idea. You went back to the house you grew up in, but it was empty, it was burnt down.

Mia and Ethan were kind enough to take you in, calling you like a daughter of their own, well kind of. Zoe and Joe escaped the Baker house together safe and sound, moving somewhere in Iceland, can't remember exactly. Chris found love, considering he works for a top secret government. You always found it weird for him to find love, he wasn't the normal type to, but oh well. He proposed to the girl he loved, but can't remember if she loved him back.

And for you, well, you had four different jobs. You had a part time job of working with FBI along side with Chris, working in a bookstore selling books, helped Mia with her job, and also did some community side jobs.

"Are you sure you're going to be okay though?" Mia whispered quietly as she shut the bedroom door. You walked down the hallway towards your own bedroom. You placed your hand on the door handle, turning it softly opening it up to the bedroom. It was small, but it was something you could live in, survive with.

Mia was always the type to care for people, even when it seemed like she didn't care. It always made you wonder if she actually did care for you sometimes. She does, but she hides it. It's a bad habit of hers. She has many of them, that's only one of the goods ones.

"Will you at least be back before Halloween?" Mia questioned leaning against the door frame of my room. You chucked softly, putting somethings in your bag.

"Yes, I should be back before Halloween. I don't want to miss Roses first Halloween. I wanna see her in that cute little ladybug outfit I made for her." You zipped up the bag. You were going be gone for two months yet, you only had two bags with you. Mia walked over grabbing one of the bags. You followed Mia out of the room, shutting the door and light behind you.

"At least have some dinner before you go-"

"Mia, I'll be fine. Don't worry." You gave her a small smile. You both walked towards the front doors, opening to outside. The snow falling from the dark sky, it may have been cloudy, but you could still see the moonlight. "Stay here. I don't want you to get sick or Rose sick."

"Fine." She huffed in annoyance. She put the bag in the ground before wrapping her arms around you tightly. You snuggled into her embrace, feeling the warmth and safety in her arms. "It's not forever, Mia. I'll be back in two months okay?"

"It seems like forever though." Mia told you. A little chuckle escaped from your lips. It may have felt like forever, but it wasn't. It was just a "see you later" "i wont be gone for long" "it's just two months" kind of thing. Goodbyes weren't something Mia was good at, she hated them. A sound of a car horn, made you both turn your heads. Your ride was here, your ride to the airport.

"Please be safe." Mia muttered.

She kept her hands on your arms, holding them tightly, but loosely as well. She really didn't want you to leave. She begged and begged you for weeks to not leave. She was afraid that once you went to Brazil, you weren't ever going to come back. That you were going to fall in love with the place.

You probably were going to fall in love with Brazil. The music that blared in the streets, the dancing, all the people there, the food, and different lifestyle. You wanted to escape your past, even if it was just for a little bit, but you just wanted to leave that behind for two months.

"I will. I promise." You promised her. You broke free from her embrace grabbing your two bags before walking towards the car. It was a dark green, small, but it would be enough to get you to the airport. You opened the back door placing your bags in before getting in yourself.

You shut the door behind you, and felt your heartbreak. You really were leaving this place, just to escape for a little while. You watched Mia go back inside the house, shutting it. You leaned into the black leather seat, hearing it squeak below you.

"Unde te duci?" The man questioned looking at you in the mirror.

"Aeroport." You croaked. Tears were trying to escape, but you didn't want them to. Not in front of a random stranger.

"It'll be okay." The man spoke, he had an accent, almost like a European accent, but it also sounded french. You looked up to see him pulling into the icy road. "She'll be okay."

"How do you know?"

"I'm a driver. I see this all the time. Someone leaves the family to explore themselves, just for a little while." He explained as he kept his eyes on the road. "But they always come back home, where they belong."

Perhaps he was right? Maybe Brazil wasn't home, maybe it was just like a little hideout until you were ready to actually go home. Just to explore the world for yourself, see it, feel it, hear it, and experience what everyone was talking about. Everyone always goes home to where they belong, where they always feel like they are welcomed.

The house was about 5 and a half hours away from the airport. You left the house around 1o, and since you had worked 4 jobs today you woke up early and didn't get much sleep for how late you went to bed.

You woke up with your head resting against the car door. Your cheek felt cold, and numb. It probably hit the door so many times for how many bumps he probably hit.

"I didn't tink you were alive back tere." When he spoke you couldn't hear the h's in the words, so it sounded like they weren't there. Like they were invisible.

You rubbed your eyes sitting up straight, seeing nothing except white snow and black trees. "How long have we been driving?"

"2 hours." This time you could hear the h. 'English language isn't easy' you thought to yourself. "I've driven longer before, but th-"

The only thing I remember was the car swerving on the icy road because of something in the road.
