Luigi had been up in his room for nearly two hours. With so many thoughts running through his head, he was beyond embarrassed that he lost his cool in front of Daisy. The nervous stutters were one thing, but crying?
Get ahold of yourself, Luigi. Everything is going to be just fine.
A soft knock on the door lifted his head from the pillow. "Weege, it's me again. Please open the door." He let out a soft sigh, but decided to go open the door. Daisy had be trying for the first hour to come in, and he had been a bit harsh in telling her to just go away. She didn't do anything wrong, she was only trying to help.
He opened his bedroom door, and there she stood with her eyes puffy and cheeks red from tears. The look on her face made his heart practically snap in two. He pulled her into a tight embrace, trying so hard not to burst into tears again.
"Mario and Peach t-told me what was going on with your mom. .I'm so sorry. If there is anything, anything I can do at all. . ."
"That's okay, Daisy. I appreciate you wanting to help. Thank you. My mom is a wonderful, beautiful, strong woman, and I truly believe she and all of us will get through this. Hopefully, in the near future, we can take a trip and you can visit her, despite the fact she and my father will both do something to embarrass me."
Daisy pulled away from the hug and giggled. "I am looking forward to it, Luigi. How about we try and take our mind off things and see if Mario and Peach want to have a game of tennis? I need to work off those breakfast calories!"
Luigi chuckled. "I'll meet you down on the court in 10. Guy's versus girls?" He smirked.
She turned to him just before exiting the room. "Oh, you're on mister!"
Luigi and Mario were first to the court. Both wearing their signature green and red but this time in a t-shirt, with black athletic shorts. They sat on the bench, Luigi bouncing a tennis ball on his racket and talking about his date the other night when the ladies came trotting down.
You would think after the number of times those two men had seen these girls in the number of beautiful outfits they had been wearing over the last few days they wouldn't be blown away by something as simple as a tennis outfit.
Boy were they dead wrong.
"Mario. .do these girls even know what they are doing to us?"
Mario looked up from his phone, eying Peach the entire time as he watched her hips sway as she walked.
"Yes, little brother, they know exactly what they are doing."
Both ladies had made a change from their usual tennis wear. Instead off the dresses with shorts underneath, they were sporting two pieces. Each in a sports bra and a pair of short shorts. Peach stuck to her signature pink, but Daisy was wearing a light green.
"She looks better in my color than I do..." Luigi mumbled only for Mario to hear. Mario chuckled.
"Ready to get you asses whooped, boys?" Daisy smirked and she looked down at the man in green.
The competitive side of Mario kicked in, he jumped up from the bench, pointing a finger at Daisy. "You better watch yourself, flower child, this game hasn't even started yet!"
Peach rolled her eyes. "Oh, Mario that's enough! Let's just play and have fun!"
The first game started out pretty even on both sides. All four of them were swinging and jumping for serves and hits that not many others would attempt to hit. Daisy and Luigi were the obvious athletes on each team. They managed to save balls that no one else would even try. Luigi got ahold of a hit from Daisy on the far-right side, and he just managed to have it spin right past Peach as she made an effort to save, but failed, catching herself with her hands on the court floor.
