Chapter 2

Noah POV

I stepped into my apartment, and set my briefcase down on the kitchen island. I loosened my tie and sat on the couch for a few, until I heard my phone ringing, I reached into my pocket and grab my phone to see that it was my dad calling me. "Hey dad what's up?" " I just wanted to know how the board meeting was how did the members accept you?", I got up from the couch and headed to bedroom I put my phone on speaker while a got the shower ready " it was great Dad they did a nice job with the presentation and I feel like they really liked what I said and they're really hoping I could bring Chicago's finest back to number one" " that's great son. I can't wait to see you Monday morning I'm going to head to bed now love you bye" he said as he hung up. I looked into the mirror and saw my mustache growing back , so I decided to shave it off for Sunday's date. I couldn't wait to meet Elijah's girlfriend's friend. I've seen a picture of her and she's extremely beautiful and she's exactly my type. As I was getting ready to step into the shower, I heard my phone ring again. I stepped out of bathroom and went to my dresser to pick up my phone and saw it was Elijah calling me I picked up right away "hey man what's up?" "Heyyyy Noah so how was work?" I looked at the phone with a questionable face and asked "what's going on? What do you need? Why are you acting like that?" "I have some bad news for you, but the set up got canceled. Alice said that the girl figured it out since it was supposed to be a surprise and she ended up saying to cancel the date I'm sorry man I knew you really liked her but she said she doesn't wanna go. It's not because you're not her type. She just doesn't wanna go don't worry." I dropped to my bed in defeat " so she canceled because she doesn't want to go on a date at all not because she doesn't wanna go on a date with me" "I'm sorry man I didn't mean for this to come out like this, Alice also said she's sorry but her friends being a douche bag" I sighed " it's all right it's no problem you know you tried, but you know she doesn't wanna go. She doesn't wanna go well I'm good head the shower and head to sleep. Talk to you later man" I hung up right after and headed back to shower.

Maya's POV(next day)

The tiny bit of sunlight that creeped in through my window behind the blinds, forced me awake. It was so bright that I immediately brought up the blanket, to cover my eyes. I immediately woke up, feeling like my stomach was on a tilt- a-world. I immediately got up and ran to the bathroom to empty my stomach " oh finally you're awake. I have some breakfast, some Excedrin and some water. I know you're feeling disgusting." I looked up at Alice and said, "why did you let me drink so much?" as I clutched my stomach in pain. She looked at me and laughed " you're a big girl you don't need me to tell you to stop, hurry up, brush your teeth, wash your face and eat some breakfast and drink some water" she said, while walking away. I got up from the toilet bowl, brush my teeth and wash my face and walked out the bathroom and headed to the kitchen "so how was your night?" I looked at her, annoyed and said " why are you speaking so loud can lower your voice please feels like my head is about to explode" She laughed and finish up, setting up the plates and sat down "here have some orange juice and some Excedrin drink that before you start eating you'll feel better in a few." After eating and taking a shower, Alice left to go back home and I started to make the brownies that I promised Abigail. An hour and a half later, I finished the brownies, put them in some Tupperware, headed out the door and walked to Abigail's apartment. I knocked on her door three times, and Ava answered the door. " Oh hey Maya, what's up?" " hey Ava, I just came to drop off these brownies that I promised your mom" She stepped to the side to let me in and the first thing I saw, was John on the recliner with his foot up " Hey John, how are you feeling?" " oh Maya that was you at the door I knew I knew that voice. How are you doing sweetie? Are those brownies for me?" " Yeah since you're in the down in the dumps with your broken foot I Decided, maybe one of my sweet treats will make you feel better." He immediately opened the Tupperware and grabbed one and took a bite. "Mmmh these are so good. Where did you learn how to make brownies like this?" Before I could answer, Abigail came into the room " Jesus, John you're already eating the brownie she just gave them to you so you better not eat that whole Tupperware full of brownies, I don't want to hear you complaining that your stomach hurts when we're eating dinner". I started to laugh and head back to the door " well you guys I'm gonna leave OK I hope you all of you guys. Enjoy my brownies." " oh honey Maya let me give you some Shrimp Alfredo pasta, here you go, honey" " Abigail, how many times I tell you I don't need you to cook for me I can cook on my own." I said to her. " well, you're just like my daughter how can I let you starve" She said, handing me a Tupperware full of the pasta. I open the door and headed back to my apartment.
