Spirit woke up to screeches, and then

dead silence. "What was that?" She

wondered. She nudged Cherrie.

"Something happened in the den

where the other family stays!". Cherrie

woke up and yawned. Then she

processed Spirit's words. "Let's go

check it out!" Spirit said. "No,"

Cherrie said, "You're staying here."

"No!" Spirit exclaimed. "I will just

track you down again." "Fine."

Cherrie sighed.

Spirit gasped when her tiny eyes saw

the wreckage. Then she took in

Hawk's dead body, and Raven

shivered and silently screaming. Spirit

walked over. Hesitantly, she put her

tail on Raven's flank. He jumped.

"H-H-Help me!" he screeched. "It's

ok, Raven. It's just me, Spirit and

Cherrie." Raven started to breath.

"O-O-OK." he said. "Come over here,

little Raven." said Cherrie. Raven stiffly

went over to her. "We will be your

family now. You don't have to explain

what happened, we'll just take you

home, OK?" Cherrie cuddled Raven

on one side, and Spirit on the other.

"Cherrie's the best!" Spirit thought.

When Scourch came back, Cherrie told

him the story. He was shocked. "It's

OK little kit, we'll take care of you like

you were Spirit's littermate. Cherrie,

come over here." "Yes?" Cherrie

whispered. "Those starry cats are from

StarClan, which these wild cats

worship." "How do you know?"

Cherrie asked sharply. "I used to be on

of them, known as Scorchfang. But I

didn't feel at home, so I become a

rogue, known as Scourch." Cherrie

nuzzled him. "And then you met me,

right?" she said lovingly. "Yes,"

Scourch nodded. Neither of them

realized the two sets of eyes gleaming

in the shadows. The two kits quickly

ran away when the two cats turned to

go back.
