Chapter 23 -

 Imagination

Limitations are found within the human mind, but infinite possibilities are created within the imagination, the only trait in which the student and teacher are one... Imagining is the first step to doing...

A smirk lit up the officers face and he acted as cool as possible in such a situation. The silver pistol glistened in the sun light as it shook like a hair buzzer in Andrew's unsteady hands. The first thing the officer noticed was that Andrew's eyes had kept jolting around in all directions, never focused on one thing. These were all signs of drug usage, and the effects were usually most intense the first time... of course Andrew's had not used drugs.... only others near him...

"Why are you doing this?" The officer said in a steady tone, his fingers curled at his side like a cowboy waiting to pull up his gun. "You put down the gun now and I guarantee you won't regret it, c'mon now..." A speaker went off in his back pocket as other officers were sending transmissions across the same frequency. The officer kept his eyes on Andrew, the gun still pointing towards him. "Where's my backup..." The officer said out of the side of his mouth as if there was something to hide, "I'm being held at gun point, request---"

Then the attention of the officer was caught. In the side of Andrew's eye something popped in, he quickly turned and there by the side of the shed out of view of the officer was Mark and Long and Luke. They all had what appeared to be the guns contained in the box Andrew had thrown out the window. "It's about time!" Andrew said loud enough for the officer to hear as he studied Andrew's motions. Andrew was talking to someone by the side of the shed, but the officer couldn't see who and he inched closer while his hand gripped the handle of his gun, still in it's holster. Andrew noticed and turned back around and raised the gun back at the officers nose.

"Who you talking to?" The officer asked as if he were talking to a child. Then Andrew saw Mark and Luke and Long walk from the side of the shed and they surrounded Andrew. Matt finally showed up after struggling to load a gun for the first time.

"It looks like you're outnumbered now..." Andrew said with a smirk.

The officer had a frown on his face but the sides of him mouth finally leveled and he realized. "I knew it!" He said.

Andrew kept the gun raised and Mark and Luke joined in. Long and Matt seemed chicken, they were the farthest away and they held the pistols as if they were some heavy rifle or instrument. The loudest noise Andrew had ever heard echoed through the entire field and he covered his ears, Mark had fired the first shot. The cop stood cooly like there was nothing going on, he just kept watching Andrew.

"This kid's nuts!" He raised up his microphone and talked in it. "Possible drug influence and or mental instability" He said as if he were a T.V. advertiser at the end of a commercial. Andrew's ears hurt so bad, then he fired the gun and dirt rose up and his hand jerked back as he wobbled behind the side of the shed. The cop jumped back behind the shed at the same time, and they were both on opposite sides of the shed. Mark ran to a tree and Luke and Long hid among the shrubs.

"What do we do?" Andrew asked. "Couldn't we just run away now?"

"Yeah we could!" Mark said, "But where would we run? If we all split up he's likely to chase us down or at least fire at one of us."

"Yeah, you're right..." Just then the metal side of the shed started bulging out right before Andrew's eyes. It erupted and a bullet was what shot out.

"It's the duty of the officer to keep the suspect alive at all costs!" The officer shouted across the shed. "I can't kill you but---"

"But we can kill you!" Mark shouted.
